9th july, 2021.

A student of university of calabar lost his life to a hit and run driver. Undergraduate with a Nick name known as Lewis, Hails from Boki local government of Cross river state, 2019/2020 session, Lewis is a 100Level student in department of Biochemistry Hails lost his life yesterday night around 10pm along IBB by Kuda, Cross River State.

Witness said Its already very late at night lewis was trying to cross to the other side of the road, he thought the road is free without him knowing a car without light is coming from behind, he was knocked down in the process, out of haste the driver have no choice but to leave Lewis to his fate, he lost much of blood in the process and was later rushed to University of Calabar teaching Hospital by a good Samaritan ,where he gave up to Ghost.

Believe me, many Nigerians take a lot of things that could cause injury and death for granted. That also includes driving against the traffic, many people have been killed or permanently injured through that.

When cctv is talked about for roads it's usually not a Normal CCTV.
Road cctvs usually have licence plate recognition software systems.
Eg the type at lekki toll gate

Sad but true. Nigeria will never ever ever be better. The mentality of hit and run is immoral, i am sure if it was his family member the driver hit he will run too, how can a driver be driving witout a headlight in the dark? Nigerians are mainly their own problem driving without headlight is not the government's fault.

Driver is at fault and has a spiritual and judicial case of manslaughter to answer. A colleague of mine back in the days was exactly in this scenario and crushed a woman who use to dish food for him to eat because the woman operated a buka. The guy rushed her to a nearby hospital, reported himself and was crying all night when the woman was finally declared dead but that honest action he took to save her was appreciated by the family who forgave her. It was devastating because the woman had a very little baby at the time. It's a crazy world

Driving without headlight in the dark, no overhead crosing, no under pass, no CCTV, no traffic light no nothing!

Even in the Animal kingdom these things are available.

Very avoidable death, 90% of accidents deaths in nigeria could have been avoided.

Look at how hospital staffs and so called doctors were just standing there next to him watch him die, because they have no adequate hospital equipments to save his life, no blood bank, no blood transfusion machine, no ambulance, no electricity. The hospital environment looks like a scrap yard. The only thing people do in nigeria is shout God help us oo! morning afternoon and night God help us oo! in the last 20 years they have been calling on God but things are getting worst, it means God isn't listening to nigerians but still they are calling God. They keep using the same solution for every problem and expecting different outcome. Young man lost his life unnercerssarily and their would be no investigations, no arrests, no prosecutions no jail or fine for the driver. No one takes responsibility of the kiiling.


Who knows? Who could be next to get hit by a no headlight driver? You? Yes! You! You may think it would never happen to you but as long as you live in nigeria anything can happen to you.

Come to Dubai , there are cameras that caputre number plates even at highest speed , it will snap too
Travel small bro
