You're now just heckling like Just30 mad cow. Use that aggression to defeat Boko Haram and save at least 8million (size of Rwanda) people of North East from that war. Vlain: |

We have never really cared about such nonsense. Anglo this or China this...or anti-Boer or anti-communism or pro- this. Kenya has always been neutral and we always look for what is mutual interest and benefit. Either bilateral or multilateral - if AU sign - we abide - if UN Sec council say this - we abide by international law. But we are free to make out own bilateral agreements. British and Kenya signed a deal to allow British soldiers to be trained in Kenya - that partnership helps the local economy and most importantly kenya troops get to train with one of the best armies of the world. Down in Lamu - US army - have small air base in an island - and that airbase helps in fighting Alshabaab and Islamic terror - which Kenya is also fighting in Somalia. Israeli trains our paramilitary and anti-terror police- GSU and police on anti-terror - and Mossad/CIA/British intelligence - work with Kenya intelligence - to defeat international terror and criminals - like Nigeria KANU guy who thought Kenya is a zoo to hide in - or the Turkish kurdish who think Nairobi is hiding ground. We work with Jordan airforce - and many others. Our military buys hardware now from Chinese. We refuse to be boxed into pro or anti this. We are an independent sovereign nation capable of making our own decision to work with Chinese in the morning, Americans in the afternoon, Arabs in the evening, Israelis tomorrow and British next week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5k8aO7jkC2E ArabicBerber: |

ArabicBerber:It's impossible for Kenya to operate independently in anything as we've shown with evidence for years. ![]() Their military fighting in Somalia is being funded by America. Sadly America cut the budget for the Kenyan soldiers in Somalia this year. Expect to see more brutality against the kdf at the hands of alshabaab. |

There is no excuse why you cannot beat homegrown terror - except your army is simply incapable - and has been found to be wanting - they run from Boko Haram. American soldiers who came to see - who so shocked - US has refused to sell any serious arms to Nigeria - coz cowardly militia will abandon it for Boko Haram. US congress on other hand quickly approves any Kenya arm sales. Nigeria army needs REFORMS. You need to inject PROFESSIONALISM into your army. Kenya Defence force had in 80s went down in Africa kind of way - there was an attempted coup in 1982 - and army was dominated by illeterate officers. In 1990s - KDF undertook what is called TONJE Reforms. That reform fixing many things that was wrong with our military and ushered in a modern force. obaaderemi: |

Of course. Kenya impressed the world by how quickly it resolved that terror. Nairobi is glad to work with Mossad, British and American special forces in combating global terror. Kenya police has Chinese made phone tracking gadget that make kidnapping almost impossible in Kenya. Kenya police runs cyber-security with best of Isreali tech that make Yahoo kind of cybercrime easy to nab. You got to learn and work with the BEST. obaaderemi: |

That just the stupid Trump - who was interested in small termism - who overrode Obama decision to ban any arm sale to Boko Haram (aka Nigeria Army). I expect Biden to enforce the ban on any arm sale to Boko Haram military wing (Nigeria army) otherwise you're making international terror more powerful. Your cowardly corrupt army - will either abandon the weapons for BH or they will sell it to them. obaaderemi: |

Come on. Somali 3 or 4 terrorist can walk anywhere including Newyork and cause drama. What is unaccaptable is Boko Haram controlling nearly the whole of north east nigeria - sending 8Million Nigerians to refuge camps - and controlling TERRITORY. THAT IS CONVENTIONAL WAR. And they have even appointed a GOVERNOR in Nigeria. How do you even get the courage to compare the two. Boko Haram are fighting and control grounds - have governors and collect taxes - and really run Nigeria east. KDF are in Kismayu deep in Somalia helping restore peace in huge age. Alshabaab cannot survive even 1hour in Kenya. obaaderemi: |

You cannot compare Africa's most professional and disciplined army with Nigeria ill-trained army - militia. Nigeria only UN mission appears to be Liberia and Siera leone - which I think they screwed it up so much Gen Opande kenya had to fix it.Show me another Africa force that UN Sec Council would trust to go to Europe, Asia and Middle East - Nigerians will go steal and rape the victims of war. Ghana has only done Africa UN peace keeping mission. This is why Kenya is one top 10 contributors to global peace/good

| Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 6:24pm On Jul 11, 2021 |
You bet they have Military Intelligence. This brute force - used to simply beating up civilians. This is why they have 360,000 foot soldiers. The Kenya Military Intelligence would have done enough reconnaissance way before - and would simply make the job easy - for the airforce to take them out - with foot soldiers really coming to sweep up. Enough KDF spies would be part of BH - and they would provide precise intelligence - like happened in Somalia. All this come with world-class training, discipline, professionalism and of course resources - in a lean force. BH cannot last 3 months if KDF were to be deployed. NTSA: |

The FACTS, just the facts from guys on the ground not elementary school exchanges. Someone once said within these pages you must constantly EXPLAIN the obvious. Here goes! Why Nigeria’s military is losing the battle against Boko Haram[http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2015/1/13/boko-haram-nigeriamilitary.htmlurl] Under-resourcing has gone on for years, and a decline in competence has come with it,” said James Hall, a former British military attache to Nigeria. “The government has been unable to recognize that the military has gone from something competent to something deeply incompetent.”....In one high-profile case, 12 soldiers allegedly shot at their commanding officer after he ordered them to conduct a mission that they asserted was tantamount to suicide.[https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/africa/the-nigerian-military-is-so-broken-its-soldiers-are-refusing-to-fight/2015/05/06/d56fabac-dcae-11e4-b6d7-b9bc8acf16f7_story.htmlurl] Nigerian press reports say that 7 Division soldiers fired on the vehicle of their commander, Maj. Gen. Ahmadu Mohammed, as he addressed troops at the Maimalari Barracks....Few see the incident in Borno as a threat to Nigerian democracy, but it has highlighted the low morale and poor capabilities of the 60,000-strong army[https://www.pri.org/stories/2014-05-16/why-nigeria-s-large-military-no-match-violent-zealotsurl] The trend of disenchanted soldiers needs to be stopped. There have been reports of soldiers complaining about poor weapons, unimproved allowances and continuous losses to the insurgents. In June 2019, Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai lamented that some officers’ insufficient commitment was affecting the success of counter-terrorism operations in the country.[https://reliefweb.int/report/nigeria/disenchanted-soldiersurl] Military Failures Mount in Borno Against Boko Haram..The Nigerian army is following its own version of the “fortified hamlets” strategy, employed by the United States and its allies in the wars in Vietnam and Afghanistan and generally regarded as a failure by counterterrorism experts.[https://www.cfr.org/blog/military-failures-mount-borno-against-boko-haramurl] Stories of Nigerian soldiers running away from Boko Haram militants have been widely reported - but low on ammunition and allocated vehicles that don't work, a former soldier says they are being outgunned and overpowered.[https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-30930767url] 2 yrs ago to save lives the NA adopted super camps. Large brigade sized camps to reduce casualties when countless coy bases were overrun. The CONSEQUENCES were ofc to be expected. Map of super camps. Last year, the Nigerian military started pulling soldiers out of villages, small unit formations and bases into bigger, stronger and better equipped camps. This 'super camp strategy' sought to bolster the military's combat posture and enhance its resistance to Boko Haram attacks on its bases.https://reliefweb.int/report/nigeria/nigeria-s-super-camps-leave-civilians-exposed-terrorists/url] Nigeria's 'super camp' strategy questioned as Islamic State fills the void[https://www.africanews.com/2019/09/16/nigeria-s-super-camp-strategy-questioned-as-islamic-state-fills-the-void/url] Islamic State fills the void in Nigeria as soldiers retreat to 'super camps'[https://mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN1W10FUurl] It was the ability of Boko Haram and other groups to attack and overrun the smaller camps that, far more than increasing the army’s effectiveness, forced the Nigerian Army to create super camps. Yet, extended military patrols from the super camps mean that they are often more vulnerable to attack. The patrols are forced to operate farther away from the bases where already limited air support is further stretched. Nigeria's Super-Camps Strategy: early gains, disappointing outcomeshttps://securitypraxis.eu/nigeria-super-camps//url] Nigeria's Boko Haram militants: Six reasons they have not been defeated..That's why, unfortunately, almost 11 or 12 years into the counter-insurgency operation, we are not seeing major successes," he told the BBC.[urlhttps://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-57117296 Literate people CAN see and ACCEPT the REALITY! Its terrifying and depressing, truthfully speaking but them's the facts!

Nigeria Army need deep reforms. The likes Gen Tonje enforced on KDF. For example Tonje rules require one to acquire a military science degree before being promoted to Major. One must also be promoted to another rank in 4yrs or leave the services. Commander server for 4yrs and leave services. Nigeria need an army general or president who can face the army (they might do a coup) and enforce REFORMS. it not working. They need to professionalism the force, fix remuneration, housing, and such issues. Being an army should be something to be proud of. https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/commentary/article/2001370813/new-kdf-boss-must-not-disappoint-daudi-tonje Tonje, wrote Daniel Opande, had vision that many officers lacked. In reforming the military, he introduced gender equality, abolished wage payments, started health insurance for the military and struggled to cater for veterans’ interests. In addition, Tonje, the “grand strategist”, dreamt of building critical policy-making masses. He persuaded Moi to establish the National Defence College as a top multi-sector regional military and civilian training organ for safeguarding national interests. He made Opande, with peace-keeping experience in Namibia, Mozambique, and West Africa, the first Commandant. NDC association Tonje retired in 2000, after four years as per his rules and Joseph Kibwana took over as CGS. All the subsequent CGSs, and most of the service commanders, have had NDC association and know the “Tonje rules” of military etiquette and governance. The Tonje rules seem to have three pillars. One, ensure that senior officers have university education and acquire ability to think critically. Two, institutionalisation of age and term limits for commanders. Three, advance the concept of service rotation in the CGS office and promote a sense of equity among the three services. CGSs follow a Tonje rotational pattern: Kibwana (Navy), Jeremiah Kianga (Army), Julius Karangi (Air Force), Samson Mwathethe (Navy), and now Kibochi (Army). kikuyu1: |

No. I have see the likes of Saud Arabia beaten by Yemenis. Or well Isreal beat the entire Arab world - yet the morons spend most of the Oil money buying weapons from US and Russia. Equipment is nothing - small motivated force like Taliban has defeated NATO. Previously Taliban beat USSR/Russia. What is important is DISCIPLINE AND MOTIVATION Barely 5 Feet vietnamese beat the US - despite US throwing tonnes of bombs. DISCIPLINE AND MOTIVATION is important. Look at Ethiopia - 1-2m force - beaten by Tigrays and Eritrea - made landlocked. Or your boers with Nuclear heads - giving up to ANC mess. At end of day - nobody will really allow you to Nuke anybody unless you're US in 1945 - so all the powerful weapons is waste of money. Modern WARFARE - mean CIVILIAN have to be isolated - and that pretty much blunt the weapons. You have to invest in intelligence and kill the enemy - leave the women and kids. Nobody will allow you to use these powerful weapons countries are buying - it just a DETERRENT MEASURE - you're better of training a professional, disciplined and motivated army - end of the day - you need to separate civilians from military targets - or you will get into LOTS of trouble.
