That application is too much. I remember the days of my PS 2. After 4 - 5 years of uninterrupted service, I had to take it for maintenance every six months especially with the disc lens always shifting out of position.

no thermal paste application is too much if you know you know because thermal paste eats easily especially after playing heavy games like last of us 2 and red dead redemption 2, that's low quality paste for you

Just curious Sir, is the thermal paste stuff also known as 'packing'. In Nigeria sometimes the repairer would tell you Oga them don pack am or he might say I go pack am for you .

That process is he literally saying he would apply thermal paste or the packing process is different from thermal paste application

Good evening ladies and gents of niaraland, today I got the opportunity to work on a ps4 that needed thermal paste replacement cos the ps4 kept writing " ps4 too hot" and then shuts down after some minutes of gameplay, at first I was thinking it's a dead fan but when I looked closely after disassembly I observed that the thermal paste was dry so I immediately went to work

Just a note for people who game alot on thier consoles, always remember to go for cleaning and thermal paste replacement, and do so with a qualified technician

I think it might be a different process, I've not heard of that terminology or slang but I might be wrong here..
