I'll tell you a short story. There are no differences between Nigeria and America. If Americans inhabit our expanse, this country will boom. If Nigerians go there...,it will be ruined. It's in the constitution, don't argue with me. |

They should go to the industrial court to challenge the legality of their dismissal if they feel due process was not followed. Resorting to cheap blackmail, name dropping and propaganda is a no no for me. Go to court and prove your case. |

And when have it became a crime for officials of a financial watchdog of NFIU nature to investigate persons suspected of corruption including the duo of Atiku, Tinubu or any other person? Why are supposed independent bodies that suppose to fight graft looking @ the body language of the govt in power before they carry out their constitutional responsibilities? No wonder, UAE BH terrorist sponsors wired staggering amount of money to their Nigerian collaborators without this same useless NFIU being in the know while the UAE government have been tracking the illicit money flow of these terrorists for years, got them arrested, immediately prosecuted, convicted and jailed accordingly. |

Are the two individuals not probe-able? Somebody called for probe into the affairs of others and is being dismissed, that means all the people discussing the probe of former politicians both online and offline will be sent to jail then. Nigeria sha |

seunmsg:Under a government that have no regard for the rule of law or due process? Do you recalled how many high profile corruption cases the current AGF-Abubarkar Malami have single handedly quashed because govt or his own vexed interest in such cases? This attitude is never gonna help the so called anti-corruption fight of the government. |

Racoon:Stop spreading concocted lies. The government will never disobey the judgement of the Industrial court. Thousands of judgements are given yearly by the court and they are all respected. So, why will their case be different? The right, lawful and democratic step to take is to go to court if they feel cheated by their former employer. They should convince the court to give them favorable judgement before accusing the government of disobeying the judgement. Blackmail, name dropping and propaganda won’t give them back their jobs. |

seunmsg:Concerns over legitimacy of officials’ dismissal Many insiders and close observers of the NFIU have raised concerns about the legitimacy of Mr Tukur’s action dismissing the two officials, who are just a notch below the CEO in the hierarchy of the agency. Mr Mustapha and Ms Salisu are the remaining legacy staff members of the NFIU in the directorate cadre of the country’s foremost financial intelligence body. It is against the norm of global financial intelligence bodies for member Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) to take actions such as disciplining staff members in a manner that appears to be politically-motivated, experts in the field have told our reporter. "Dismissing staff members, top directors at that, in connection with moves to investigate politically exposed persons, is definitely not global intelligence bodies will frown on'......Insiders have punctured the dismissal for being arbitrarily done. Section 7(3) of the NFIU Act 2018 gives the agency the power to make staff regulations to provide for staff disciplinary procedure and remunerations. But three years down the line since the coming into force of the Act, the regulations meant to be issued with the approval of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice “and other appropriate authorities” have yet to see the light of the day.The implication is that the Director takes disciplinary actions in the agency at his whims and caprices |

Their actions is against civil service rules and possibly sponsored to indict some people without following due process. They deserve what they got! |

Racoon:Thanks for reposting. The initial post by the OP was blurry. Now that we have read the same thing, I will advice the dismissed guys to go to court. Posting and reposting on Nairaland or any other internet space won’t return them back to work. Only an order of the court can. |
