The mods are part of the problem. If you insult a Buhari supporter you get an instant two week or even a month ban.

But some people on this forum threaten to kill other ethnic groups and are back posting after one week. The mods won't even remove their post for hours or even days.

Even at that, taking another man's life shouldn't be the solution.

I don't understand igbo but I hear the part the person said engine since last year.

Probably the NAF person tried to return an engine he bought since last year, the seller refuse to take it back and that was when all hell went loose.

Whichever way it is, this action only continue to tarnish the image of the Nigerian military in the international community.

It's a shame.

I heard about it few minutes ago from someone that witnessed it and its disheartening that those soldiers could do sumtin as such. If not for the market leader that used his wisdom and managed his emotions but sincerely its painful to see where this country is heading to.and I know say if 50 army enter ladipo and those ladipo boys mean business none of them will come out alive but at the same time let's just try to control our emotions because any life lost can never be brought back cry
I totally condemn random killings by security personnel or anybody at all. But, if the person you heard from only told you what the soldiers did, you should look for another witness to tell you why the soldiers where at the market in first place because his/her account wasn't complete.

This is always the problem. What happens after your 50 Soldiers are killed by the Ladipo boys?

There are some things which the government should be chastised for but instead, we either politicize it or turn it into tribalism.
The government sees and knows these things that's why they treat us as they like cos they believe we can't do anything and when we try to talk, they turn us against each other using tribalism or bigotry cos they know those are some of the things most people are proud of..

I southniyikaye will never be a tribalist..

So the law states that as a soldier, if a civilian beat you, you should beat back by shooting them with a gun!

Am sure if those killed even by stray bullet, were your family members, you will support this kind of approach by the Nigeria Army.

Why are we like this in this country?

yes boss I heard about what transpired and how some boys harrased and beat up the soldier that came to lay the complaint about his engine packing up but that doesn't warrant them to kill people. Things could have really gone out of hand and the marketers would lose more.

No wonder it is said that if you don't listen to news, you are uniformed and if you do, you will be misinformed.

This is the real account of what happened from a first hand situation report.

A military personnel bought engine from one of the dealers and he tried returning it because according to him, it was defective, here is where the problem started, the dealer refused to change it because doing so will make the transaction turn to a loss on his part after accounting for the commission paid to baranda boys (middleman/market touts).

The Soldier told the dealer that the commission paid to any middleman is none of his concern and an argument which turned physical ensued. The dealers ganged up on him and assaulted him. The soldier went back to his base, returned with reinforcement and the rest is history.

Something has to be done about the unscrupulous business practices in that particular market no excusing the high handedness of the military in this issue.
He should have arrested the dealer instead, what of if he was not a soldier, just an ordinary citizen?

Let's just assume that tour story is true, is that enough reason to get his colleagues to shoot at people? In an open market at that, what happens to arresting the guy in question if u think he played you? What is the value of human life in this country? Does human life even have value anymore?

I'm always supporting igbos but those Ladiipo,Alaba and computer village guys are worse than bandits, in 2003 I entered a shop to buy a sound system, we agreed on price, I made payment, he issue a receipt and wrote a naration, "Speaker only". Unknown to me I signed! When it's time to recieve the package, I was given only sound speaker, I demanded for a refund, I was told I should meet who received money from me, the guy has fled the shop, that's how I went home with only speaker at the cost #20k in 2003. When I saw this news, I'm so happy,

Whoever captured this news, was a true eye-witness. Exactly what happened. So unfortunate that we can't resolve simple issues without bragging, fighting and shooting. Life surely has no duplicate.

This issue of using soldiers to harras people need to be checked. This doesn't have to be a tribalistic issue because it can happen to anyone. I hate it that whenever the igbos are the victim then there is always that propaganda of being marginalized. We have seen soldiers beat up other tribes too. They need to go back to the barracks and stop mettling in civil issues.

One thing about ladipo is once u buy something from there like an engine or a gearbox, it will be very difficult to return it without paying extra to get it replaced. What I can say about what happened here is the show of power from both sides, something that could have been settled amicably now ended up in bloodshed. Force does not solve anything.

I once bought an engine at ladipo way back in 2012. My mechanic didn't check the engine very well, he just checked the outside and we bought it. On getting to his shop, after taking out the spark plug he realized the inside of the engine was so bad, he opened the cylinder and lo and behold, the engine looked like something that was rotten. We didn't even bother mouting it. Next day we took it back and the seller delayed us for several hours. We showed him the evidence to look at the inside of the engine he sold to us but he refused to refund us. We reported to their task force and those ones too wasted our time. Later in the day he took us to a warehouse where they sell direct tokunbo engines that have not been tampered with in the end I got another engine but not without paying extra N60, 000. That engine he sold to me will still be sold to another person and that one too will come to return it and the cycle will continue.

Although some dealers are honest and more considerate. I remember buying a gearbox frok one young dealer, we mounted it and the gearbox didn't work well. I called him and the next day he sent a bike to bring another gearbox worhiut paying a dime. Only paid the bike man transportation fees.

Nice one army officers, u don’t rob people on broad daylight in the name of business, do u know how much a car engine costs? and u give a person a defective one on top, then refuse to change it, they only hear by force..
