…holds press conference on electronic transmission of election results

The minority caucus of the House of Representatives has walked out of the Committee of the House considering the report of the Electoral Bill.

The walk-out was a result of Deputy Speaker, Wase’s insistence that clause 52(2) cannot be debated again.

The caucus is currently briefing the Press on the electronic transmission of election results.

Walkout has proven to be counterproductive.

Why not sit tight and fight it out.

What is this?

Good.

Those opposing this electronic transmission of electoral results are the ones planning to rig elections.

cool

If POS can't work in all places in the 774 local government area of Nigeria due to bad network or no network, how will INEC ADHOCS be able to transmit data in rural areas , Northern deserts and Niger Delta creeks

As developed as US is, 2016 Democrats accused Republican of using Putin and Russian spy to hack and win the Trump / Hillary election.

In 2020 Donald Trump and Republican accused Biden and Democrats of Rigging using rigged electronic voting box and mailing ballots

The minority will have their say but the majority will have their way.
The lacuna of the issue is,is Nigeria ripe for electronic transmission of electoral results devoid of manual tempering and hacking, looking at our total network coverages?

We can't get it right if we as country keep bringing up reasons why we should not do the right thing..
Electronic transmission of result will bring out fairer electoral result than we currently have.
What lapses noticed during the process can be developed and built upon in subsequent election instead of jettisoning the idea entirely

This people are bent of rigging the next election.

My question is "was there any issue with electronic transmission of results in the previous elections"?.

It's obvious that the APC is an analogue party by their stand against digitalization

What are they fighting out? Deputy speaker who chaired the proceedings has said he will not allow the debate for electronic transmission of results to be mandatory and you said they should sit it out?

A walk out is an expression of displeasure to let attentive spectators know that they are not in favour of the electoral bill as passed......

History will tell and posterity will bear record that they had no power as a minority to fight tyranny of the executive under the Buhari administration but refused to play rubber stamp nonetheless
