What value does this add to the dead? How does this guarantee going to heaven?
The poor in the village are expected to be happy seeing all these without a major impact on their lives. The roads in the village could at least have been graded and topped with some granite given all the money being thrown around.
NORSYK: Obi Cubana mother's Burial vs. Mike Adenuga mother's Burial: Man narrates why the burial of Mike Adenuga’s mum remains the SI unit of burials.

They packed trucks filled with cartons of beer. Trucks o. You take as much crates as you can. No restrictions to how many people can attend."
"Mike Adenuga built a cathedral, and a mission house in the compound where they buried his mum. His father died in the 80s, they went to dig the corpse and transferred it to the same compound where the mother was buried.
Gbenga Daniel tarred Oru/ljebu-igbo road and installed atreet lights for the burial. And they had different musicians performing each day for the whole week. KSA, Yinka Ayefele etc. I've not seen anything like that before. This was in 2005 or thereabout."
"Omo, we went home with crates of alcohol. Earlier in the week, they came to share cow parts for us at home as our share of the meat meant for the street. It was a total shut down for one week. Obasanjo and almost all the governors attended.
Madness. Madness that I can never forget. When Mike Adenuga's daughter came to spray KSA on the field, you need to see her entourage. By entourage, I mean her friends that are following and shielding her. Padi mi, money is good in this life.
They had like four or five different groups of people attending the party at the same time. The one inside the compound is for the president and governors. State legislators were on the field. Families camped elsewhere or the field. Different groups. Then there is the open one.
Allahu! And you can't access the different groups if you don't belong there despite all of them happening in the same place. Omo! That was a one time event in this life. Money was spent."
What's the basis for this comparison? It is only the weak that compares himself with another as comparison is often fueled by feeling of challenge and inadequacy!

Why will u bring Mike Adenuga to this? Are they mate? The money these guys throwing around at Obi's mum funeral have is not up to 10 percent of what Mike Adenuga has. Money pass money.

Sebi burial has finished ended ,we can have some fresh air on NL.
It because of the too much noise that's why everybody is talking and comparing, bloggers that kuku don't have work before. They will make different topics about this burial.
Besides why would someone compare mike adenuga with this guy, I don't get it.
That said an average Nigerian wants to show off that he or she has arrived , what is holding a lot back is lack of funds.
jesmond3945: but they are not the government. Would Nigerians vote for him if he became the President?
an igbo man,how can they vote him, Nigerians will prefer to vote and chadian,Malian, nigerien over an igbo and they will die and complain and re elect the fool and die and complain.

I think we've had enough of this burial thing, even to the point of comparison, and it is caused by the publicity crew of the Cubana's bombarding Nairaland day and night with publicity stunts. They shove it down our throats that these guys are billionaires, and they mention one Jowizaza as a billionaire, whom I never heard of or seen on the dailies. But it fine, we can move on now.
But one thing is certain, the pettyness of calling everyone a Billionaire is robbing us of simple knowledge and eroding our intelligence here on Nairaland.
Adenuga and the likes are in the class of listed Billionaires on the Billionaires index, these guys roll with Presidents and own Oil Wells and employ thousands of families, unfortunately, we don't know much of these showbiz boys (forgive me, I call them boys) with PR crews that are constantly bombarding Nairaland for publicity stuff.
Just for reference, Billionaires from the Eastern Flock:
NB: Some of these guys quoted above have their companies listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE); Abeg I no fit shout.
Real Billionaires don't make noise and have no need for publicity. They're the real MVPs and Role Models we should all aspire to become. They're employers of thousands, own Industries and enable people to put foods on their tables.

Only a few people have sense in this country very few! U should be glad you are among the few. We are outnumbered by moronss.
jesmond3945: but obi is not the government. His friends and family are the ones celebrating him all over social media. I bet you if buhari was alive to his responsibilities our IGR would boom so much that people will celebrate it. What is Abba kyari doing in the burial?
So because he is a super cop he shouldn't attend occasions right?

No no no no don't do that. Please don't drag the church down to this level. The church should have a higher moral and ethical standard. The day we start comparing the church with these kind of idiocy, that day the need for the church starts to diminish.
