Chief Olufemi Fani-Kayode, a former minister of Aviation and chieftain of the people’s Democratic Party, PDP, has called in the Beninoise Government to respect the rights of the arrested Yoruba Nation
agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemi popularly known as Sunday Igboho, as enshrined in the international laws.

Recall Vanguard had reported that Sunday Igboho was arrested at the Cotonou airport trying to flee to Germany.

Fani-Kayode noted that Sunday Igboho detention in Cotonou will be monitored with serious concern and keen interest.

Fani-Kayode made this call via his social media page on Wednesday warning that the Beninoise Government must be fair in their actions.

He wrote, “I call on the authorities in Cotonou to respect the civil liberties and rights of Chief Sunday Adeyemo (Sunday Igboho) and I call on them to treat him with respect and decorum.

Those rights are protected under international laws and protocols, including the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights to which the Benin Republic is a signatory.

The Beninoise Government must be fair in their actions. Igboho must not be denied access to his doctors and lawyers and he must not be tortured, brutalised, humiliated or treated with contempt.

The whole world is watching and we shall continue to monitor the events with concern and keen interest."

Who send them message of secession or creating new nations? How can I be carried away when Igboho was merely playing his politics for his masters? Why are we pretending not to know who he is?
It's a common thing to take issues causing discontent with the people and demagogues will mix their personal agenda with it. When many of you will not read how can you understand you're being played?

Civilian JTF are fighting alongside the Army against insurgents and are not asking for independent Borno or secession because Fulani led govt is not doing enough to end killings in Kanuri land.

But rather than face the kidnappers and bandits solely, Igboho was holding rallies in the cities while the bandits he claimed to be fighting were still disturbing farmers and travelers even in his hometown. He never even held joint operations with Amotekun legally empowered in his state to fight crimes like kidnapping etc.

You have not fought the security challenges, and you now open another battle front of secession and expect to be left alone. What dumbness, fighting on 2 fronts with a armful of guns and uncommitted fighters.

The reality is they don't want any new nation, they just want to create as much chaos and confusion as possible in order to present themselves as the next viable alternative to run Nigeria they are deceiving you they are tired of.
