The Ika And Not The Igbos Were The ****(slaves) by mancoconut(op): 5:05pm On Jul 22, 2021
They were the censored slaves Reno was talking about, for one it makes more sense to arrive at this logical conclusion based on the fact of all the present Igbo speaking subgroups, it's only the Ika, Ikwerre and parts of Ukwuani that love to warm up to the whole "we are from Benin" fantasy... so it's basically the historical Stockholm syndrome of master/slave relationship of these groups (Ika/Ukwuani and Ikwerre) coming into play according to Reno's assertion.

Secondly, it makes sense to discern which slaves in particular Reno was alluding to because the Igbos East of the Niger and parts of present say Enuani on the West banks of the Niger were farther away from any significant control or influence from the so called Benin empire, the slave raid of the Igbos done by the Benin warriors were mostly in the settlements and areas closer to the Benin kingdom, and these group of people who were raided and captured as slaves are the present day Ika whose aboriginal Igbo languages and cultures got immersed and influenced by their Benin slave masters who colonized these people for a significant amount of time. That's why today the Igbo denial syndrome remains very strong among the Ika/Ukwuani axis who are still suffering from the slavery hangover imposed on them by the Benin kingdom.

Of course, it's obvious he was talking about Ika and Ndokwa Ukwuani slavish people with their slavish Bini nostalgia.
Igbo people getting dragged into this whole thing are tactless.

Now i see, where this stupidity is coming from because i have argued everywhere i went to that there is no relationship between an Igbo speaking nation and the Benin kingdom, this almost caused me my sonship. There are two side to this story and both side has a lot of veracities, i need to do more research.

Till you force the Ika to write about how they sold igbos as slaves again? Reno is a good man, he didn't want to embarrass igbos but still can't stand how you guys always annexing his tribe to be part of igbos.

All the tribe in the south south relationships with igbo is nothing but slavery. The Ijaws, the igalas, Bini, Efiks. Almost all of them were advanced than igbos of the time due to European contact and centralized power system.
