How to Protect Your Vehicle Engine! by merrywheels(op):
Alert!!!
Service your oil pumps regularly and protect your vehicle engine against undue damage.

OIL PUMP : The oil pump is the life of a vehicle engine. It does the job of lubricating the entire engine against stiffness and permanent damage. From the moment you kick your vehicle engine till the moment you turn it off,the damage or continuous engine roar depends heavily on the oil pump to provide enough pressure to lubricate the entire engine.
Now what happens when this activity is shut down mostly by excess dirt in the oil sump which i will describe as the "dustbin" of the entire engine.
Every vehicle engine has an oil pump with two dirt filters.
*One before reception of oil introduced into the engine.
*The other before distribution of oil to engine parts for lubrication.
The first filter is well unseen hidden in the lowest part of the engine sump where the dipstick goes. The other is your basic oil filter which the mechanic urges you to change during oil changes.
Now what do you think happens when the inner filter is filled with dirt while we keep changing only the outer filter?
Most mechanics never take into cognizance the hidden pump which gathers sludge due to :
*adulterated engine oils.
* long parking of vehicle.
* Bad oil change habit.
That's right! Oil reception becomes difficult due to a dirt filled filter and believe me if you neglect seeing the low oil pressure on your dash board,then you are buying a new engine in 10-15 minutes of oil starvation to the oil distribution filter.
Merrywheels has had to change too many intact engines due to this little but very disastrous neglect.
It wouldn't cost anything to ask your mechanic to have your oil pump serviced and sump cleaned out.
Till Merrywheels comes your way again,safe driving.

I can't find the filters in the diagram
Are I saying we should be telling our mechanic to clean the inner filter?

If your vehicle is above 10 years from production date then you should ask your mechanic to service your oil pump and inner filter.
