TheLequte:dude, I literally just told you it's personal preference. You haven't seen me drop stat or make any comparison have you? Someone posted stats of kounde vs veranes last season showing kounde kicking verane's butt. But i personally prefer verane based on his experience not the stat. Did you see any comparison there? |

NinjaMetahuman:Havertz is unreliable in the PL as a false 9, and Werner's performance is atrocious both as a winger and a striker. For Chelsea to compete with top teams in the league and Europe, getting Haaland or a good striker is crucial. |

NinjaMetahuman:neither are you sure a 130m striker would hit the ground running. You are talking about moving a big player from a set team, who performed within certain instructions and environment and strived. What's to say, Lukaku, Kane or Haaland don't flop when they come. Nothing, just hope the one we may get doesn't. Last season is gone, that's how football is, what may happen this season even many jazz men no know. ![]() Replacement for Giroud? That Tuchel barely used? Inter signed Lukaku and worked on him for months, Kane has been in Tottenham for so long and has his own issues, injuries, bottling some crunch games and trophies. Then Haaland, from a league where scoring 20goals is a piece of cake, who is to say that the hype, transfer fee, change in league and environment doesn't affect him negatively The rumor of Lukaku and Haaland is likely due to them both having played in a 3-4-3, still it's all a risk Why can't Ziyech hit 12goals and 15 assists next season in the league or Werner 15+ goals or Havertz 15+ goals. When last was EPL won because of one player? I'm more worried about how the players we have will do than if we do get a new signing. Left to me I would sign Kounde, Rice/Tchoum... and loan an attacker, Griezmann, Coutinho, Dembele, Odegaard or Dybala if possible. |

A001:and Lukaku at 26 had the touch of an elephant Even with Kane Tottenham are mid table Chelsea never serious submit bid for Haaland, but from the moment Haaland kicks the ball, every miss, every loss, the pressure, the press would be insane. Hope you will still support Haaland if he is signed and flops |

BlueAngel444:Lukaku will play well with the duo of Mount and Havertz in form. And yes, I would support Haaland if he flops in the first season. I never criticized Havertz's performance, even when he flopped on returning to action after contracting and surviving COVID-19. |

A001:do you remember Higuain, joined Juventus at 28, almost 29, for €90m... He played just two seasons for Juve, he had just one good to great season for them. Of Chelsea have soo much money to waste and they can't get Haaland and can't wait then they should sign Vhalovic or Calvert Lewin. If inter rejected €100m + Alonso which equals £100m, then they shouldn't bother. You don't see City increasing their £100m bid for Kane As much as Madrid need a new attacker you don't see them bidding £100m+ for one, or for Mbappe. Lukaku may play well but what happens if Tuchel leaves. If I was Lukaku I won't even join Chelsea in a world cup year, leaving a club where I'm appreciated and respected. Chelsea bidded €100m for Chiesa but didn't go after Sancho who was cheaper, maybe they do not rate bundesliga anymore. |

Benzema (33) and Lewandowksi (32) are two of the best strikers in the world currently. Drogba’s best goal-scoring season for Chelsea was at 32 years old. Romelu Lukaku recently turned 28. He has many years in his prime to come. Age is not an issue, at all. |

Lol, apparently "According to @dwright75, Alonso is included in the £85m Chelsea tabled for Lukaku. Which means something like £70m plus £15m for Alonso value. That's more reasonable and sensible. Translation could have been an issue with the Italian's report." Meaning Chelsea did offer €100m which was rejected and Inter expect £100m, which would be £85-90m plus Alonso |

A001:why are you guys still putting mount among attacking midfielders at Chelsea Let me show you something Assist are the number of assists a player gets, xA are expected assists, meaning the possibility of the chances he creates becoming a goal If you look at the chart below, you will see that most players outperform their expected assists, only mount underperforms his expected assists with a large percentage, because most of the chances he created last season were poor chances and more than half are freekicks and corner kicks chances

| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by BlueMann: 6:39pm On Aug 03, 2021 |
Havertz10:Allow me halt you there, chief. Expected assists is basically the likelihood that a player's pass, or the chance hr creates, will result in a goal. Basically same definition you gave. But I think your interpretation is wrong. If a player under performs his expected assists, it doesn't necessarily mean the chances he created were poor. Look at this comparison between TAA and Robbo. Both created 41 chances from open play in 2019/20, and Robertson had 10 assists to TAA's six (open play). But Robbo had an xA of 4.9, while TAA had an xA of 7.1. So Robbo grossly outperformed his xA, while TAA underperfformer his. Does this mean Robbo is creating more high quality chances than TAA, whom is supposedly creating low quality chanced based on your logic? No. By contrast, the fact that TAA has a higher xA than Robbo with both having created same number of chances, shews that Robbo is the one creating the more 'difficult' chances, and TAA is 'unlucky' not to have more assists to his name. 7.1 to 4.9 means TAA was expected to have more assists than Robbo based on the type and quality of passes he played and chances he created! So the fact that Mount underperforms his xA doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't create Hugh chances, or he creates more poor chances and chances from set pieces. It means, simply, that Mount should have had more assists than he actually had, based on the type and quality of passes he played and chances he created. He, like TAA in the above analysis, is unlucky not to have more assists to his name. In short, you are indirectly cutting him some slack ![]() These images should help explain the analysis.

And secondly, which one is "why are you people putting Mount among the attacking midfielders at Chelsea "? Is he a left wingback? Or does he play for Kano Pillars? Let us criticise, but let us be guided ![]()

BlueMann:I'm happy too, advantage for high pressing team but I still have my reservations concerning it. Who determines the "marginally offside"? This will allow ojoro to set in. There will be a lot of discrepancies, some decisions will be considered marginally offside for team A while it may be overlooked for team B, this marginally offside should be thoroughly spelt out. |
