Okorocha: There’s A Vacuum In Nigeria, Asks Youths To Take 2023 Presidency by MANDIPUTIN: 8:05am On Aug 06, 2021
Rochas Okorocha, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, says there is a vacuum in Nigeria.

Under President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime, wanton violence and disregard for human rights have plummeted.

Mr Okorocha, a senator representing Imo West, stated this at a one-day summit and award recognition programme of the Nigerian Diaspora Youth Ambassador (NDYA) on Thursday in Abuja.

Addressing Nigerian youths, the former Imo governor stated, “You are the very group of people we have been waiting for to correct our mistakes and build a Nigeria of our collective dreams.

“There is a vacuum in Nigeria, and this nation is waiting for youths to rewrite the history of Nigeria. If youths can come together to say we want to take the presidency, no matter what, they will do it because they stand to succeed in unity.’’

Mr Okorocha urged the youths to be focused and take action ahead of the 2023 election. With the unemployment rate skyrocketing, the senator urged them not to wait for white-collar works.

“If you must succeed, you must do teamwork like the lion to bring down the elephant called leadership. United, you can achieve anything, just like the lion that has its strength in unity,” said Mr Okorocha, prepping them up for the 2023 presidency. “Don’t give up. Continue to persist, and you can take the presidency in 2023.”

Similarly, the Senate Chief Whip of Orji Kalu, represented by his aide Obasi Igbokwe, noted that the national assembly identified with the youths.

Also speaking at the event, Almustapha Abdulahi, the former National Youths Council of Nigeria’s president, encouraged youths to be dogged, love one another and reject things that would cause division among them.

Which youths ? The same youths that you politicians(oppressors) have successfully divided by religious and ethnics lines.

You politicians(oppressors) knows that youths in this contraption can’t unite. During the ENDSARS, the northern youths saw it as a SOUTHERN issue

grin grin correct talk bt from my own perspective Nigeria youths are much more selfish than our current leaders... Come down to Ndokwa east in Delta state and see wat a youth in power has done to his ppl. He claims to be representing, virtually nothing.. I said nothing... We should not b pushing for youths to lead cos it's not right for the son to be in control of d family wen d father is still alive... We youths don actually know our place ... Youths like children should hold their fathers for basic necessities to life not the power to lead d family or nation... Youths should unite to vote for a better and thinking fathers.. youths should peacefully protest to elders for employment and other things dt is rightfully theirs.. like in my state Delta in d rich oil producing area.. if as a youth and u can walk up to ur elders and ask dem for wat is rightfully yours in a violent way which is the only way dis selfish elders understand.. trust me dt employment and help u will definitely get it from those companies

Even the youths are not ready, are they not the ones doing BMC jobs online?

Was it not the youthful population of the north and south that twice voted this government into power?

The issue is that Nigerians generally don't like to think, if we were thinking people who are tired of this old cargoes,

We should be considering people like Osinbajo and Zulum for the presidency

We the youths can stamp our feet and say it's either they or never

We can use the power of the social media to promote and campaign for them like we do for BBNaija and football teams.

Actively mobilise for them and then make sure they are accountable to the people.

I laugh...the same youth that will abandon a fellow youth and be carrying handbag for tinubu and atiku. The youths are not ready. The youths that won't go and collect voters card but will spend d whole day on Twitter lamenting bad leadership. The one with voters card will not go out to vote in d name of they will still rig it. A young man will win an election in an unknown party based on his grassroot popularity, then after 2 months in office he will decamp to the ruling party. Desmond Elliot na youth, Abba Kyari na youth, Akin Alabi na youth, amechi was speaker house of assembly at 34yrs old then governor at 42yrs old(he is one of the biggest thieves in nigeria) he used his stolen wealth to bring this incompetent buhari to power, dimeji bankole was not up to 40 as speaker house of reps, Elrufai became FCT minister at 43 and started allocating abuja lands to his wives and kids(even d ones not up to 10years old). The people that will still do campaign songs for Atiku and Tinubu and d other old ones are the same youths. The problem is not age, the problem is the mindset of the peope(young and old)

There's no vacuum,Nigeria youths are very busy right now voting for who will be sent out from big brother house, and even the sane ones are already queuing behing Tinubu or Atiku in 2023.
If in doubt read some of the comments here on Nairaland.
Nigeria youths will take over leadership in 2050,after they have grown old and are in their late 60s.
