Next year it should hit 5.5m tonnes - which the break even point.
As for bankruptcy - that is normal in a normal business world - one goes down - another comes up.
If Nigerians companies are not going down - they are either not trying hard enough or they are monopolies.
In a brutally competitive enviroment like kenya or international airline - one or two mistakes - you're out
@ at the bold, can you please provide figures to support your claims and these figures should comes with the yearly operating cost as well?

No. Nairobi expressway is just on another level. we can't be posting same section each and every time man! We're posting progress since the road is under construction.

Just a reminder, this is one of those roads that you confidently claimed to be dead. grin... Now you're in extreme pain seeing it growing grin

Kenya SGR started main operation in 2018 - passenger in 2017 - and the ignorant folks like you - think it can break even so soon. No - it's way China gave us 30yrs to repay this loan.

2018 and 2019 - there were a lot of teething issues - mainly in Nairobi Inland Depot (handles 450,000 TEUS) and last miles issues.

I believe this year it could hit 5.5m and break even. This just the Nairobi-Mombasa section..phase 1.

Nairobi to Naivasha to Kampla (with Inland depot in Naivasha) - with MGR - all being renovated - will also push the figures higher - so KR revenues will start to exceed 200m usd soon.

Operational cost should not grow because the number of trains being run remain the same.

Well, their work ethic is to be admired, esp by us africans.Their discipline and strictness to time/order. Their committment to their word. These are attributes both whites and asians have - and are lacking in Africa culturue. Mzungu tops it up with exploratory spirit - their unsettled restless urge to travel. But yes they have a strange fondness to pets (mostly because they are lonley living hermitic live without large families) - can be sexually defiant (coz they can do whatever they want) - and as for the shower thing - I imagine it's a problem to dry their long hair smiley - more like a dog get washed weekly or monthly for that reason - otherwise with hot shower - and bathrooms everywhere - that probably the only thing Mwafrika will fear in water. The same reason african women with fake long hair - can go for month without washing them - for fear of breaking it or having to dry it up - leaving such odour.
Over the yrs I've come to an observation- they automatically associate whiteness with cleanliness.
I rmbr in the early 90s a drunk Brit told on himself saying," you guys NEED to bathe unlike us." Imo, this peculiar attitude is at the heart of Oyinbo non bathing.
Look at this F'ERY!?

Please, Famous White People, Stop Telling Us You Don’t Bathe...The latest culprit is Jake Gyllenhaal. In an interview with Vanity Fair published Thursday, the actor said, “More and more I find bathing to be less necessary, at times. I do believe... that good manners and bad breath get you nowhere. So I do that. But I do also think that there’s a whole world of not bathing that is also really helpful for skin maintenance, and we naturally clean ourselves....(REALLY, NIGGA!?)
..The uproar started when celebrity couple Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher told hosts on the Armchair Expert podcast in July that they only wash daily what they consider their necessities. For Kunis, that’s her face, and for Kutcher, he washes the crevices and “nothing else ever.”..UUURGHHH...Then, when they added their children to the conversation, Kutcher said, “If you can see the dirt on them, clean them. Otherwise, there’s no point.”

That’s not all.

Actor Kristen Bell came to the couple’s defense Tuesday while appearing on The View. Speaking about her own method of parenting, she told the show’s hosts, "I'm a big fan of waiting for the stink. Once you catch a whiff, that's biology's way of letting you know you need to clean it up.”
https://money.yahoo.com/please-famous-white-people-stop-194513833.html/url]

ISN'T that FECKING child abuse!? WTF is with Oyinbos and baths? Imo, its the whiteness DELUSION.

We Kenyans,Ugs, Malawians, Tzns are not comfortable without our washcloths, loofahs and sponges.

Edit: this DELUSION is why so many 20-29 yr old US White women are silently burning! Herpes, STIs and abortion induced infertility are REALLY doing a number on their growth rates. Nxt time you're in those parts look closely at a group of white females if you're in a club.
I guarantee you if OVER 5 in number, at LEAST one will have a cold sore!

You should embark on major Infrastructures only when you have the capacities to operate it and pay for the loans.

It's more of a flyover right cause when I search longest expressways it brings up normal highways so if we're talking a normal expressway 28km is nothing now if this is a flyover it's different because as far as i'm concerned that's all this is so you mean to say the longest flyover in Africa not the longest expressway 28km is nothing for an expressway but a lot for a flyover
Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by Mkenya2019: 5:11pm On Aug 07, 2021
5m metric tonnes is nothing - Mombasa port approaching 40m. Infact these projection were done when Kenya cargo at MSA port was 17M back in 2013- now it more than doubled in less than 10yrs.

In fact, we need to think about converting the old MGR from Mombasa to Nairobi - to SGR or at least rehabilitate it too.

I expect Mombasa by 2030 to handle more than 70 metric tonnes - that level of Durban port.

Actually, you should borrow to build infrastructure - or do PPPs - allow the private sector if they find it profitable. You can use oil money to invest in Nigerians - their very bad education - their poverty - and most important their SECURITY. You need to spend at least 12B dollars in your security sector to reach Kenya level. You're spending 2.5B - at the whims of boko haram, cattler rustlers, muslims jihadist of various forms, urban gangs, kidnapping, oil pipeline vandalism (now you produce less oil than you did 20yrs ago), and now south east has started armed civil war in Biafra

No - it's mostly the speed of construction that freak us out. It's not even 1yr since it started. The Chinese are incredible construction machines. This kenya busiest section of the road - and they are able to get this done - almost seamlessly - working 24hrs a day. It's surreal to see the progress they have made - Corona included.

Kamikaze nonsense of the highest proportion. How does transporting 20-30 people in boats in city of 20m really help.
Just buy freaking ferries for crying out loud.
Mombasa has ferry services that move thousands daily

Lagos needs proper ferry services that will move people and cars btw the many island. NOT BOATS

A ferry that can carry 1,000 people at go, mayb 100 cars.

Kenya Ferry Services in Mombasa transport 350,000 people DAILY. That was 2015. Now it's probably past 500,000 people daily. Nigeria can eliminate traffic jams by simply investing in ferries - and move millions from the island to the mainlands of Nigeria.

I've spared my 20mins just to search for SA roads but disappointingly, I didn't see any road that can match Nairobi expressway.

And yes, this road is 28km but the quality standards in it is quite mind-boggling. 18km of it will be eleveted and it will have 10 interchanges.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUe6M_NLeWY

The only road that I saw of high quality in south Africa is that spaghetti road. But sadly that is an interchange which I wasn't talking about cos even Ghana has done a grand thing in that sector which no interchange in Sub-Sahara outside SA can rival!

Delete this thing immediately and save Kenya some permanent online embarrassment. I would rather swim to my destination than getting estranged on the high sea and treated less than human because of the failure of a govt that can’t afford to build a decent bridge to ferry people enmasse.

Of course you embarrassed because you boats carry 500 people per day - at best - while Mombasa ferries 500,000 people per day. Nobody get stuck in traffic in Mombasa - because of a little bridge to the Island and back.

Use your brains a little bit

Invest in ferry - this a SHIP - not a boat - a modified SHIP. - just 20 such modified ships in Lagos - would eliminate traffic.

Nope I am embarrassed that people have to be stacked like good on top each other, inhaling the bad fumes emanating from each other with zero comfort just to get to the other side of town.now that right there is chaos and madness right in the middle of the sea.

As for Lagos boat.the culture started last year post-COVID. And like brt it will grow-heck more 10 boats has been added this year and we expect the increment to triple even before the end of this year.so shove ur hand up ur arse abd fvck ur self
