But I pasted it here. Search. And this list is very old - Equity total assets has almost doubled - and KCB has crossed 10B. See some of the recent acquisitions - and remember to chuckle a little - when you Access Bank Nigeria bought crap for 1.4B ksh ![]() https://money-gate.com/largest-african-banks-in-the-world/ Counting by country, in the top 80 African banks by assets, are the following: Algeria-5 Ivory Coast-1 Senegal-1 Angola-4 Kenya-10 South Africa-7 Egypt-7 Mauritius-5 Sudan-1 Ethiopia-4 Morocco-7 Tanzania-2 Gabon-1 Mozambique-2 Togo-1 Ghana-3 Namibia-2 Tunisia-1 Rwanda-1 Nigeria-14 Uganda-1 10yrs ago - it was just one bank - see Kenya is growing on STEROIDS but you don't listen. You will wake up when Kenya overtake Nigeria in less than a decade (real uncooked GDP). You cannot GDP - because by then Kenya banks will bigger than Nigeria amongst other indicators;Equity already laid down the gauntlet - 100M customers by 2025- and 25B dollar in total assets. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-05-26/kenya-s-biggest-bank-targets-seven-fold-customer-growth-by-2025 obaaderemi:

Helios must be crying everytime they read Equity Bank https://www.ft.com/content/40e54063-5564-405e-af6c-5eec8099cafc The Nairobi office of James Mwangi offers a sense of the expansion plans harboured by the chief executive of Kenya’s Equity Bank. A string of flags — Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo — adorn the entrance, highlighting his push to make the bank the region’s leading financial institution. “We are now the largest bank in Democratic Republic of Congo, the largest bank in South Sudan, the second-largest bank in Kenya, when you go to Rwanda we are ranked number four and Uganda we are number six,” he says. “I have no doubt we will be the second-largest bank in Rwanda by next year, and probably the third-largest in Uganda. So essentially, we have made Nairobi the region’s hub.” Equity is the second-biggest bank in Kenya after KCB, which has also expanded abroad, but analysts see Mr Mwangi as more aggressive in his overseas push. “Going to DRC, which is a French-speaking country, is a good test of how we could perform in French[-speaking] regions like [in] west Africa,” Mr Mwangi says. |

Mkenya2019:So you're going to count Absa, Stanbic and Standard Chartered even though they are all subsididaries in Kenya of South African Banks and I bet at least two more on that least are foreign and not indigenously Kenyan Edited The co operative bank is based in the UK so 4 out of 10 of your banks are foreign let me now go back to check the list and see the actual total assets of INDIGENOUS Kenyan Banks and not subsidiaries of British and South African banks Edited It is about 17-19 billion dollars in total |
| Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by Mkenya2019: 9:48pm On Aug 08, 2021 |
In kenya - only those 3 are foreign - Stanbic/Barclays/Stanchart - in the 14 for Nigeria - I can count 4 that are foreign - Ecobank (Togo),Stanbic, Citibank and StanChart. So we can go with 7 for Kenya and 10 for Nigeria : Abohboy:

Mkenya2019:KCB as of 2019 says 8.87 billion dollars I don't expect a bank to grow that significantly in two years during COVID without some cooking of figures going on Meanwhile Equity doesn't seem to have any confirmed total asset at least by simple google search since 2014 |
