Lukaku will probably disappoint you about 1.

He’s tall and hefty but doesn’t really know how to use those to his advantage- apart from bullying opponents in a short foot race. If the ball is fast- as it will be in the EPL- he’s gonna have difficulty with 1. It was no biggie in the serie A since the pace is slower.

Maybe he’s improved his game in that regard though.

About 2, he’s quite direct so you’ll get that from him. Plus he’s very dangerous when he drifts to the right. His crosses from that position (when he pulls back) are accurate and always difficult to defend against.
Lukaku is certainly a better scorer than any attacker we had on ground at Chelsea.... so he's definitely an improvement... make una carry badbelle dey go

Ole almost killed Lukaku, thank God for Conte in Romelu's life. grin
Apart from banter, even you know that’s not true. Lukaku just didn’t want to be at United anymore and it was never ole’s fault.

Barca's mess is really really deep, at this rate they can't register depay and Aguero.

LA liga rules cap wages to revenue ratio at 70%, and Barcelona were at 115% with Messi, now that Messi is gone they are at 95%, they still need to offload 25% more percent in order to be able to register new players.

There is definitely no way they would have been able to keep Messi, Spanish rules meant that messi can't take more than 50% pay cut, meaning if he did, they would have been at 105% still needing to cut 95% to 60% to accommodate Messi.

Barcelona are in deep shit, they made losses of about half a billion euros last season, now none of their players can command half of the amount they were bought (in part to the fact that clubs are very aware of their desperation and would naturally want to take advantage of it), even if Barcelona agrees to sell as bonanza package, are these players willing to take pay cut at another club? Which club will be willing to pay umtiti, coutinho and dembele their current wages.

I wager that it will take Barcelona some years to recover from this mess.
Their players will also be demotivated from all the crap that's going on. Abeg who we fit buy from Barca for cheap? Shey we should try for Pedri? grin

I don't think the bolded is accurate, per their last Annual report and FS they made a loss of 97M euros and not half a billion.

He's actually right, the 97m euros loss was in the 2019/2020 season when the pandemic first hit and later accumulated to become almost half a billion after the end of last season

Yeah, I mentioned that the 97M loss was from their last published annual report for year ending on 30 June 2020. Based on that report revenue that would be affected by the Pandemic should be around 50 to 100M euros and that should not result in losses of about half a billion.

Do you have a link to an article or report about the 0.5B losses. Did a quick search and couldn't find anything.

Barca go pursue you ehn.

They were trying to negotiate a griezmann - Saul swap deal, Athletico were taking a lot of advantage of Barcelona's situation, leading in 15M difference after the losses Barcelona were willing to take, this represents the problems they will face with offloading players.

Laporta himself came out saying after audit the club was in worse shape than they initially thought.
Although he refused to mention figures saying “We cannot put the institution at greater risk,”. Many sources have pegged the figure to be closer to the 500M mark.

At a time when Barcelona don't even have any quality players, when we tried to sign ter stegen and help them, they went to renew his contract

Messi's departure may help in the short term, with Laporta revealing the club expects to register losses of almost 500 million euros for last season.

Armando Broja's loan move to Southampton is set to be confirmed in the next 48 hours. [via @JackRosser_]

Tammy Abraham will not join Atalanta this summer. AS Roma have entered the race amid interest from Arsenal. [@DiMarzio via @Route1futbol]

Romelu Lukaku is currently carrying out the first part of the medical examinations at Columbus Clinic in Milan ahead of his switch to #Chelsea. [via @InterCM16]

Abraham and Zouma don't want to leave until after winning the Super cup, can't blame them though.

Lukaku will fill a home grown quota for Chelsea, his signing could affected Tottenham buying Martinez and could impact City's ability to buy early or even afford Kane this summer cheesy as Tottenham don't have any immediate CF targets and hope to convince Kane to staying this season.
