Honestly I don’t really see the wrong in most of the things he highlighted.sure there where some that didn’t sit well with me but most places that he touched was just so unnecessary and irrelevant.I think it’s just western propaganda and jealousy. They should suck it up , Dubai is still better than newyork infrastructurally. Newyork and the rest of American society can only boast of a better political and economic system that Favours everyone including immigrants.

Construction of Lagos blue line rail.
I am pretty sure if this was Kenya this would be posted every single day.
I am also quite sure tracks should be more elevated than the so called Nairobi expressway way they keep yapping about.

As at the time of posting this video was just 7 hours old.

Lol! We have more new grand projects currently underway that we don't overhype. I hope you're aware that that particular project is now celebrating 12yrs since it break ground grin? Now that the project is 40% complete and taken 10yrs since construction started, what about the 60% remaining ? Will it take 15yrs.. ? Food for thought cool

On the other hand, expressway just started last year and the progress is quite tremendous. If we post progress, you'll definitely become jealous and start screaming envy songs every moment it pops up - we understand smiley. You can't justify your post with that video notwithstanding, you could've just posted the link and blend it with your writings if you don't want to appear to be posting progress of stalled projects.

This is viaduct progress, another grand project in Kenya that has not been overhyped.

Like anything in Nigeria - this will take 20yrs- that is why video was shot 7 yrs ago and construction is stalled.

2008: A metro is proposed for Lagos, allegedly with a completion date of 2011.
2009: Construction commences on the Blue Line.[2]
2010: Lagos Rail Mass Transit to proceed.[citation needed]
2016: Phase I (the Blue Line from Marina to Mile 2) planned to open in December 2016.
2018: After an Alstom review of the project, Phase I (the Blue Line from Marina to Mile 2) is now set to open in 2021.
2021: The Lagos State Government announces that the Blue and Red Lines will open in December 2022.[4]

The hilarious Nigeriaspeak

LAMATA is responsible for policy direction, regulation, and infrastructure for the network. The first section of the network (Phase I of the Blue Line) was Originally scheduled to be completed by the first quarter of 2014, it was however announced earlier this year that operations will officially start in December 2016, but presently the project is still ongoing, and there are reports that operation would not start until next year, 2017.
Let's even forget the date of proposal. The 27km project started waaay back in 2010, a decade ago grin - our expressway which is 28 km with 10 massive interchanges is now at 50% completion and just started last year, so in this case, which country is sleeping? grin
Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by Mkenya2019: 11:47am On Aug 12, 2021
And they keep launching and signing new projects while some that started way back in 1970s are still under construction. 150km Lagos-Ibadan expressway is one such example - under notorious Reynolds RCC. I think it lack something like Kenya's vision 2030. Something so broad every new gov will come, complete the previous projects, before embarking on new ones.

Again they have horror contractors - like Reynolds Construction Company Limited - the one that took 10yrs to construct 5kms in industrial area - after sneaking in as SBI international - no Nigeria contractor is ever getting another contract in kenya.

The horror they visited on kenya will not be forgotten soon - and this what they do to Nigerians every day

The Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) says Reynolds Construction Company (RCC) has failed to complete works on the Enterprise-Likoni road junction, five years after the project was started – a development that has seen firms losing business due to the poor state of the road.

Companies have lost about 30 percent of their business due to the bad state of Eastgate Road off Mombasa Road. Trucks now move slowly from Mlolongo to Inland Container Depot (ICD) spending more than three hours on a stretch that would usually be a 15-minute drive,” KAM chairman Sachen Gudka said.

although RCC had never done any road construction work in Kenya, it was given the job as part of conditions by the European Union (EU), who financed the project through a grant of Sh3.4 billion – with Kenya settling the balance.

EU insisted that the contractor had to come from an EU state member or an affiliate of a European company. RCC is a subsidiary of Switzerland headquartered SBI International Holdings AG, which has interests in construction and other sectors, and has operations in different countries.

In April, the Ministry of Infrastructure said it had cancelled the contract for the 6.1km Enterprise Road stretch, a critical artery for Nairobi’s Industrial Area, following delays by RCC.

The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (Kura), which is overseeing the project, has previously blamed the delays on differences between it and RCC amid reports that the Nigerian company had received upfront payment for the job.

RCC - on Lagos-Ibadan expressway - Launched in 2013 - now nearly 10ys later - it still at 70 percent - they need another 10yrs to complete - bridges at 45 percent.

123Kms - two contractors - 20yrs - a warm welcome to Nigeria.

Firstly I can assure without reason to doubt that I am not in any freaking way jealous of ur expressway project.it’s yet again another regular flyover to be erected in Nairobi.we had so many of those for years.perhaps we could gift some of our rundown flyover to ur zoo so I have more things to brag about and even get ur self accustomed to basic infrastructures.

Secondly it’s not 40% complete.I am aware u want to sleep tonight so u need to pull figures from ur ass to have a sound sleep tonight. Otherwise this project should be ready by January next year.

The rest is noise not worth my time.

Ur flyover is a mere $50m project with an over inflated corrupt budget sitting at about $600m I think. We are talking of massive stuffs that run into billions of US dollars not $50m flyover. Heck you can’t even afford to buy the trains(u will have to be strangled with Chinese or Japanese debt to achieve any of this) alone not to talk of laying the track.wonder no have why you had to opt for that inferior Spanish garbage.

u don't even need to argue or explain anything to them. Let a county in kenya embark on a project like d blue rail as lagos state govt is doing.... Without fed govt assistance or borrowing a penny.

Their central can't even build such without borrowing, talk more of county.

Lagos rail mass transit system project
The first two lines of the urban light rail project are estimated to cost $1.4bn. The Red line will be 30km long and will run between Marina and Agbado. The Blue line will be 27km long, connecting Okokomaiko to Marina

Surprisingly, it's only blue line currently under construction. grin. That being sayed, you should be ashamed of yourself and your country for overhyping a project that started in 2008 ;13yrs ago and still at 40% completion.

u're comparing apples with oranges. The lines are lagos' projects, not fed govt projects. Lagos state is financing it without incurring debt, so they're building it as the funds come.... Or can any county in kenya build a project worth $1.4b without govt support?

And no, the actual construction of blue rail started in april 2014, stop depending on wikipedia. And yes, red line is currently under construction... Though red line will use the lagos-ibadan rail line, then extension to the airport and marina.

Expressway is being funded through PPP, no loan has been taken to fund it.

Point number 2, there is nothing like red line project, it is a nonexistent project.

Point number 3, your blue line project started in 2011 - 10yrs ago. Click this link and enlighten yourself.

Firstly I will damned before I ever have to argue the date construction started.it’s started in 2014 and that’s fact.plus I honestly couldn’t care about that,I am talking present not history.

Secondly the flyover cost cannot be more than $50m .just forget that corrupt practices Kenyatta and is cohorts are doing.it’s fvcking overinflated.

Thirdly the price u quoted was for the proposed project in 2011.This is 2021 and cost has gone up.
