Hahahaha.....the only time Tinubu made few friends in the North was since 2015 and the North knows it. Did you see that newspaper publication of the 1990s where he claimed he did not believe in Nigeria? That is the real Tinubu. That is why he had been engaged in ethnic politics until there was a chance to be in control in 2015. If APC denies him their 2023 presidential ticket as they are set to do, I guarantee you he would dive back into sectional politics where nobody but him controls everybody.

Atiku is a pan Nigerian, you know that yourself and that is why he defeated Tinubu in Ondo, Oyo and almost took other SW States. Yorubas love him as well, as his relationship with them dates back decades.

BECAUSE OF THE POLITICAL IMBALANCE BETWEEN THE NORTH AND THE SOUTH which consequently work against the southern part of Nigeria coupled with southern disunity between the south west, south south and south east it is hard for a southern President to emerge without getting the support of the northern political leaders.

Consequently, it is expedient for the south to start calculating and engaging the north on the way forward for the south to get this presidency.

I am of the opinion that RESTRUCTURING of our kind of federalism is the major remedy for the southern part of Nigeria.

SOUTHERNERS SHOULD BE THINKING TOWARDS A CONFEDERATION OR CONFEDERALISM.

Let us have a loose union with the northern part of Nigeria.

People of the Southern regions must continue to be 2nd class citizens in Nigeria before the northerners.

Southern soldiers were asleep between 1967-1996 when northern soldiers restructured Nigeria politically, wrongly used land mass or population as criterion to proliferate too many states (19+Abuja) in the northern region, but created only 17 states in the two southern regions that formed independent Nigeria with the northern region.
With the election law provision that a presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 2/3 of 36 states, no southern presidential candidate can win unless the north led by Fulani is not interested in producing the next president of Nigeria.

Fact is that land mass or population figures is not used as criterion to proliferate new political units in a region with larger land mass or population in a country formed by different regions. Doing that is assigning political and economic strength to the region where the states were proliferated.

The political permutations for 2023 Presidential election is going this way; South West will bulldoze APC to give them ticket and they will get ticket but PDP will give North President slot and South East/South South Igbo VP and tell them that they will hand over to South East/South Igbo after they support the North win the election under PDP. North will vote enmass for their own who is PDP candidate, East and South South being the home tuff of PDP will naturally vote their own party PDP with an assurance of one of their own as VP. PDP will win next Presidential election if it fields a Northerner as President and APC fields a Southern as President. It is the political conspiracy of the North to retain power by all means by playing the ever existing division in the South between the West and East with Niger Delta always acting aloof and as on lookers.
