Asisat Oshoala has recovered from Covid-19. Barcelona Femeni posted a picture of the Nigerian striker training after recovering from the disease. She has also received her African Player of the Year trophy, more than a year after she won the award in January 2020.

Oshoala is a 4-time African footballer of the year, having won the award in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2019.

She's the only African to have won the award and it was presented on the strength of her performance at the 2014 Under 20 World Cup and the 2014 Nations Cup. No other African has won it.
