What is your definition of rest? Taking a vacation? Do you know a professional footballer or athlete has to train hard everyday in order to stay fit? So even though they're in vacation, they still train, meaning they're not really resting as you might think.

If Pedri didn't participate in Olympic games, he would definitely have participated in the preseason. So how is playing at the olympics any different from taking part in preseason, apart from maybe flying halfway across the world to Toyko. Yes, preseason could be like 45-60mins of play but it still boils down to fitness. In each, you have to train hard and be fit to play it.

Lets not over-flog this Pedri resting or not resting issues.

Resting consist of sleeping well each day and generally taking good care of yourself. No late night parties etc. If Pedri sleeps well and dont party like dt, he will be fine.

It's not even about favoritism, pedri played the most games of any outfield player coming into this new season, most times we tend to forget that as good as he is, this boy's just 18yrs of old and is still in his developmental phase,In the Olympics final I saw few traces of fatigue in him despite him trying his best in the midfield, there's a reason barca didn't want him to even go for it though it was him that agreed, Not that he'll be overworked again at this tender time, breaks down and starts churning out mixed performances leading to harsh criticism

Even at that I don't think the fee would be enough to get a new striker, cause it'll be most likely go straight into fixing the financial situation, reports from England have been saying we're interested in aubameyang and lacazette, I just weak

My issue with you people clamouring for Pedri to rest. Its not because you care about Pedri. Its because you want your darling Puig to play.
For your information, Sergi Roberto or Gavi or Puig all have equal opportunities to play if Pedri didn't start. Absence of Pedri won't automatically mean presence of Puig.

Who told you the bolded?? They just do light training to keep fit and not intense training. More so you can't compare rest where you have the leisure of hanging out with your family and friends to playing competitive football every 3-4 days.
Please there are different categories of rest and Pedri needs proper rest. That guy have one of the highest minutes in barca squad, Spain's euro squad and Spain's Olympic squad at such a young age and you're comparing him with people who have at least 2weeks rest?

Age brother. You won't compare a certain 18 years old to Richard who obviously understands his body better than a potential adult. Besides, what them do we do when he gets injured cos of constantly subjecting his body to bigger stress?

I was wrong insinuating favoritism, Pedri is good but we have other players in the squad that can offer something.

Last season after series of impressive performances, it became clear that our squad was clearly tired out. We don't want such a thing to happen to our midfielders again. It would be terrible

Well we have 5 subs so I would expect that they would all be used in this match. Especially when we are in the ascendency.

Richarlison is 24, Is in his 4th season at everton, compared to a 18 year old pedri who was supposed to be sent out on loan last season but his talent and grace found him and he became a starter playing his first year of "serious" competitive football, why many of us are advocating he's to be rested is not even only about the age or other midfield options, it's because we know when he starts, Koeman would freakin run him into the ground, and this time he's just coming from the back of a hectic schedule, He's in the line up already so we just have to hope for the best, Me I want to see the pedri I watched that aside from key passes, also dribbles freely and scores from outside the box in Las Palmas, this gem needs to be handled well by all means
