A time to kill

I completed the book last week and I really enjoyed it, so I decided watch the movie to experience better what I experienced while reading the book, and honestly, the movie does not do justice to the book. Although the character selection was on point, the movie missed out on a lot of details in the book.

Interesting watch nonetheless. Kevin Spacey was top notch (as always) in the movie.

For an action movie, this was a labour to watch. The action scenes were poorly choreographed. I mean, they managed to make Michelle Yeah boring to watch. Granted, she's past her prime but that was not enough excuse for the terrible showing.
The dialogue had me wondering whether it was the script that was bad or the actors that sucked at the delivery.
The plot was basic and predictable.
All in all, it was just alright. Could have been better though.

A nice product of a Ritchie/Statham marriage that has me hyped for Five Eyes before even seeing a trailer.
A decent revenge story with storytelling that had me glued to the screen. Dialogue was a bit artificial and pretentious in some scenes but the cast masked it with competent delivery.
Jason is the last of a dying breed and I savour every performance he delivers these days cos he's in the twilight years of his career. And he was really good in this. Projecting the necessary emotions to help immerse you in what was happening on screen.
The cinematography is gloomy and gritty and serves to establish the movie's grim setting and atmosphere
And the firefight at the climax was very entertaining. Definitely rewatching that even if I don't find time to rewatch the movie.

I always go back and rewatch that scene anytime I remember it and It's funny everytime
