The highly acclaimed Rift Valley Academy - mostly for American missionary kids - a boarding school at the cliff of the rift valley

It was ranked 2nd out of the top 100 best high schools in Africa by Africa Almanac in 2003, based upon quality of education, student engagement, strength and activities of alumni, school profile, internet and news visibility.

Fyi, some very heavy hitters have their kids in these parts. About 6 or 7 yrs ago a US Senator had a son here.

Out of Nigeria's external debt 32 is commercial loan. It's much higher in Kenya where commercial loans are already 35% of your external debt.

You can talk nicely to IMF but IMF will not talk nicely to you. They already told Uhuru to freeze workers pay and to cut funding to your universities.
Your debt to GDP ratio is getting worse year after year.
It's already above 60%.

Then your Chinese loans are another problem.
Of all the countries here Kenya is most likely the next Lebanon. Tea prices, remittances and tourism receipts
are falling.
Yes, you're right, FOR once! Behold the bad news:

SGR posts 33pc rise in Jan-June revenue

An AVALANCHE of imminent debt repayment coupled with squeezed banking credit will crush us next week if not tomorrow.
I must now go and wipe away my tears of sadness -SNIFF!
Black MOFO, continue crywanking inventing mentally illiterate doomsday scenarios for Kenya! If you and your playgroup had at LEAST a collective IQ of 80 you'd try to learn from us. That is if you could at least develop a CODE, first, a minimum software of RESPECT based interaction.

Nigeria has just won their first ever medal in an international Javelin event with a bronze medal at the U20 athletics championships!!!!! That puts our medal tally up to 2 and we hope to get a medal in the mens and womens 200m and the womens 400m as well and we also have another athlete in 110m hurdles but it's unlikely that he'll win imo

The Largest And The Most Technologically Advanced Rice Mill In The Whole Of Africa Is Almost Ready For Commisioning By The End Of This Year

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fmq7SSjku-g

This Rice Mill will produce more then 32 tonnes of rice per hour, they're already scaling up production in Rice producing states such as Kebbi, Kogi, Benue, Ogun, Kwara etc. To be able to supply this rice mill.

Nigeria will soon by itself be able to produce enough rice for the whole Sub Saharan African Market

Current production rate is 10 million tonnes with this on stream should increase to 12 million tonnes and there's dozens of other projects of similar scale springing up across the nation

Wow, it's a Lagos state project
and it's the biggest of its kind in sub sahara Africa.
Lagos keeps looking for ways to improve igr instead of just relying on federal government handouts and taxing the people to death like some other African cities are doing.

Imagine how much money Lagos will make from rice alone when this comes on stream. Add that to taxes from Dangote refinery and other benefits from the lekki ports and you would see why Lagos state's economy is larger than that of our friends here. grin

It could be; I am seeing Thailand exports has dropped drastically and Benin has disappeared. Camerooun still big - some South East problem still smuggling rice.

Nigeria is Africa's biggest rice producer. I said that here 2 years ago and certain little Indians nearly had heart attacks. They brought out all kinds of statistics from Benin and Thailand to counter the claim. Now, does that look like Lebanon's economy to you? grin
Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp20182: 3:23pm On Aug 20, 2021
Lagos doesn't collect even a billion dollars.
2019 - N187.8 billion tax revenue.
That in dollars - is 456M dollars
If you want to compare to kenya - 21B dollars - then you're sick - it nearly 50 times! more.
Nairobi county doesn't collect taxes
But levies - and it does about 100M.

Our fidelity is to the facts. Benin was importing rice they could not possibly consume - 10m people - importing 7M tonnes of rice. Prima facia - based on Thailand alone - yes they have reduced their imports - that can only mean their re-export to Nigeria has died. Now we need to dig more.

Kenya is a country, Lagos is a state. There's a limit to the kinds of taxes Lagos can collect.

Imagine if we had proper leaders tho the way Lagos would be booming it would be crazy the fact that we've even come this far with mediocre leaders is surprising but kudos to sanwo olu for the port and rice mill projects if they can build a railway then we could export this rice to other countries in Africa imagine Nigerian rice in Congo, Gabon, Cameroon etc.

Proud day in Kenya as gov attempt to amend the constitution is headed to the dustbin in a court of appeal. Kenya gov had lost 5-0 in high court and appealed.

The entire country has spent the whole day listening to the Court of Appeal.

The high court ruling has been described as a groundbreaking ruling the Kenya constitution basic structure cannot be amended and finding the president in violation of the law - and found about 20 adverse ruling against gov.

They appealed - they are losing - because kenyans are committed to building a democratic and modern country. The 1st African country to have sitting president election annulled.

Justice Kiage is one of 7 bench - delivered a powerful indictment of kenya gov.

Kenya independent judiciary - find the president in violation on chapter six on integrity - and possibly liable for huge financial loss for a misguided constitutional change attempt.

Kenya's 2010 constitution was achieved after more than 30yrs of agitation, bloodshed, and tears - and was enacted through comprehensive participation of kenyans.

Kenya made a economic turn for better in 2003-2005 - however political and legal reforms didnt happen until 2007/2008 widespread violence lead to many deaths and displacement - shocking the system to deal with legal reforms - and in 2010 a new constitution was finally realized.

Kenya constitution 2010 - a transformative modern constitution - ALLOW any kenyan without any legal knowledge to move to court on public interest and not get sunk by legal fees or legal jargon.

During this constitution amendment appeal case...one of public member that shone was this guy - a farmer in western kenya
