Him replacing himself with Maria, could it be he is just acting and he knows he is not going?

Maybe he don't want biggie to figure out that Maria told him, he is acting to protect Maria.

But I can’t say I’m not shocked at his choice of Boma.

He says he has been on the fence regarding trust with Boma which is understandable because Boma did a lot of talking behind his back and advising him wrongly and then keeping mute when Pere acts out the advise. But I’m surprised that Pere has noticed that he can’t really trust Boma.
