1/4 of debt you cannot repay. I am glad kenya did not get ensnared by Tullow like Ghana. Oil is gone. We are doing well in renewable. Already top 10 in Geothermal. That is where we need to focus.

Oil is the past - the future is renewable energy.

Just30:
See how confused you are

grin grin grin

3/4th of all the gas consumed by Ghana comes from Ghana oil fields which are pumping huge gas...

Our failure to consume all the gas we produce has already cause All the large oil companies to pull out of Kenya .... which has left kenyatta with no option but to used buckets to fetch his country oil, since Kenya cant afford the technology

we owe no debt in gas supply to Nigeria

All of that is old and has fully been pay once supply has been made as permitted by the supply contract

3 months in arrears is permitted

This is not kenya where all your generation and distributers are making huge losses, year after year and hugely debt ridden

That explains why your national grid cant even supply 2000mw of electricity

Those who keep screaming that the future is renewable are already running back to oil

Just look at Germany and you will know why

Compare kenya power company and Ghana main electricity company results

EGH (2018) and KPLC (2019)

KPLC -The total units purchased rose to 11,493 GWh from 10,702 GWh in the previous period representing
an increase of 7.4%. Power sold 8,769.

Ghana -Power purchased 10,900 and Power sold 8,251

http://www.ecggh.com/images/reports/2018_ECG_Financial_Report.pdf

https://kplc.co.ke/img/full/ypSsKdhsre3z_KPLC%20ANNUAL%20REPORT%202019_20%20FOR%20WEB.pdf

Give and take few units sold by Northern.

Kenya has a lot of industries on their own generated power.
Exactamundo! Many tea factories have their own pico power plants, less than 3 MW.
Seen the massive Devki steel plant in Kwale?

KWALE, KENYA: A multi-billion shilling steel smelting plant under construction at Gora in Samburu, Kwale County, has initiated the process of establishing its own 55 megawatts power plant.
[url][/https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/business/news/article/2001402843/kwales-mega-steel-plant-plans-own-power-station]

A local, national and continental game changer.I know ONLY SA produces raw steel. Out of politeness I WON'T mention Ajaokuta.

Edit: WITHOUT an indigenous Steel industry you'll NEVER get anywhere! You'll NEVER produce the high grade light weight steel needed for aerospace, aviation and weapons; the heavier steel for construction or the high nitrogen high tensile steel for ship building.

he is always in rush to quote a perceived negative report without a further read.such a slowpoke.

it is even a relief now , Ghana is relying heavily on the local gas ( the atuabo gas ) and another gas line is under construction. since nigeria gas line has proven not reliable

That translate to how many days per year? And do they ever get filled up. Kenya we have two big ones and they are mostly disused. These white elephants are not a priority. Build medium sized stadiums. Until you're developed enough - otherwise you have empty tombs - waste of money.

Yes lots of manufacturers and big institutions are now generating their own independent power (including yours truly);

kenya is one world leading in terms of small solar installation. I think kenya is second to India

The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) data shows that some 2.3 million households used solar for lighting, representing about 19.3 per cent of the total number of homes with rural areas recording 30 per cent growth.

It took that long because there was change in Government so they had to delay the payment so they can make politics out of it.

It took so long because by 2016 we had gotten alternative sources of power so with or without Nigeria Gas Ghana had enough power for it's citizens...

This Government in power can do anything for it's political expediency

Look half-baked. Kenya has a lot of solar power installation - leads in mini-solar systems and such. I think for a very long time Kenya has had the largest private sector dominated solar PV home systems of any developing nation.

Actually kenya is better than India
https://sun-connect-ea.org/kenya-has-overtaken-india-to-become-the-number-one-market-for-solar-systems/

A new report by the Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century (REN21) schows that the high demand means the government’s efforts to connect Kenyans to the national electricity grid might not be yielding the desired effects. In 2019, when Kenya went ahead of India in the purchase of solar systems, Kenyans bought 1.97 million units of solar power systems. They use the systems to light up their homes as well as power electronic devices including charging their phones and power TV and entertainment units. The units Kenyans bought grew 55 per cent last year, compared to the 1.2 million units that were purchased in 2018. India, which has been the leading market for solar systems, bought 1.6 million units in 2019, a 31 per cent drop compared to the two million acquired the previous year

Saffa chick, I've replied directly 3x and they, the Mods or a higher power have deleted thrice! I can't guess what filters are being used. Let me try once more.
Firstly I believe Credo-other serious people have said much the same about non human powers secretly controlling human affairs via entities to inflict trauma upon the world. Imo,the lockdown is just what the Global Elites, aka the Illum...i need to impoverish, control and ultimately kill most of humanity.
If you ANYTHING about me even you obviously know there's no FKN way I'm getting vaxxed! BUT-I'm that nigga who has tried everything,EVERYTHING but herding cats, crocodile farming and commercial scuba diving. I've settled on real estate,tea/sugar cane farming, aquaculture,Crypto, forex and investment betting . I'm also choosing a site for a bamboo plantation;fyi Giant Bamboo produces panelling, furniture and even bullet prof vests which Blackwater are now making in Mlolongo. Btw,rvp20182,this needs a tea environment and 4 yrs to mature. Nothing compares to bamboo returns, averaging 8-10k $ per acre if unprocessed poles are sold.
As a high energy guy I'm still constantly looking for viable projects and investments and last yr just after the 'Ronadrama began I found one. I can't be too specific-haters here as you know aren't few. The opportunities to upscale and diversify are enormous as are the marketing possibilities. Its the kind of thing I must at least try!
Problem is this vocational engineering course needed is only offered in W Europe, specifically the Germanic zones. I actually talked to the HoD of a school last yr top rated globally. It seems the vaxx passport may be necessary-I'll ignore my logical misgivings and go for the double vaxx simply to enable me to do the 4 yr course.
Sometimes in life we do what we must not what we want.

Yada yada in a topic you barely understand - there are half-baked reports out there - but anybody who knows Solar System - knows Kenya is world leader in the developing world especially in home System.

M-Kopa for example has 0.5M customers in Kenya - on their pay as you go solar system.

This what you generator country should be doing - kenya has maybe 2.5M household with solar power installed - and solar mini-grids.

In terms of big installation - kenya has 50MW power plant - and many small ones.
