They Niger Deltans deserve much more than this paltry payment of stipends, considering the gigantic oil wealth coming from that region.

They obviously get more than this. This are direct payments to personal accounts if militants. undecided

Agitators and semi illiterates. They will squander the money on ijaw gals, shack, cars and forget to fix their lives and people. Then blame the president for their failures.

Is it I continue pay certain people and militant or develop the area and give university scholarship to certain smart students from there?

Because if the FG continue to pay certain people, that practice may never end and ND will remain underdeveloped till crude oil finished

This is a message from the presidency to show you southerners the equality in ransom and benefits payment between Boko garam, bandits (North) and Militant (South). The only different is that Southern militants are not trustworthy enough to be enrolled into Nigerian Armed forces. So is just a shut up to their next move towards romancing bandits, herdsmen and bokoharam. Its Monday and I'm broke

That too much Money that would have been used to develop the region, and If you are wondering how all of these militant warlords and some Musicians of the South South divide, became filthy wealthy, search no further. The amount FG and Oil Coys have paid militants prior to this 2 months in review, would have been enough to develop the South South, and massively empower their restive youths. But Akpabio and Abuja Hawks will prefer to ferry Ghana must bags, filled with foreign currency into the creek, anytime the Niger Delta Avengers coughs, and since they also stand to benefit from the FG and Oil Coys Largees, let the payments continue.

Your comment is senseless. Was it Niger Delta that got the money? How can the government settle just a few individuals and you are saying that we deserve more. They should do things that imparts directly in the lives of all those living in the oil rich region.

Everyone living in the oil rich region should have free housing, free education, free medical care and free monthly stipends.

These people collecting this money are only digging their graves. Instead of strengthening the security in the Niger Delta region, they are busy amassing wealth for themselves. By the time this Jihadist launch attack on Nigeria, they will be the first target. It is like most of us don't know the evil agenda of this government.

The same problem facing Nigeria is what's facing the Niger Delta! Bad leaders!

This guys get a fair share of the largesse bit you won't see any concrete development cos the leaders have embezzled it.

Let me give you are instance, do you know if Shell or Chevron decides to build a multi billion naira hospital, it is demanded of them to award contract to a local who is politically inclined to powers, you won't see the money and hospital, and nothing will happen to that individual. I worked for a multinational in that region back in the days and can give you first class information.

You cannot help them except you do it through them, and that means, nothing or a quack job will be done.

What the region deserve is massive infrastructural development and good governance
Creating investment friendly zones there to attract investment and reduce unemployment is a bonus
Not giving misfit and thugs "stipends"
Building up the region infrastructurally, nd massively educating the people with technical and vocational skills (as well as university education as the case may apply) is what the region needs to really alleviate the suffering of the people

This stipends does no good to the average niger delta in the region
