It's not about who collect VAT or not but how its is unfairly shared........the northern states ban alcohol consumption, destroys brewing companies but want to share from the same VAT generated in the south from this items they destroy, is that fair?
Now look at these statement below by gov wike;
Rivers generated N15bn in June 2021 but got N4.7bn but “Kano produced N2.8bn in June but Kano also got N2.8bn. Sometimes you don’t want to believe these things exist”.

The F.G and FIRS are just shying away from the main issue here. If F.G can collect, let them share it failry too, its simple!

We really understand that some unscrupulous elements are trying to politicise the issue of VAT collection but they can never succeed, they are only wasting their time, federal government must be the one to collect it either they like it or not

See desperation. The VAT collection from state are minimal. Then stop collecting it. Let the state be the custodian of their taxes no matter how small.

When you see products of quota system, it's obvious and glaring. Keep waiting for VAT from Alcohol, which is Haram, hypocrites.

You guys should go and work.

This thing de pain them wella o.

2 things that have made the FG (North) tremble recently.

1. This VAT issue.

2. The 17 southern governors coming together to unanimously ban open grazing.

Some states will eventually merge with some other states if they really practice true federalism.

I have said it before and I will say it again.

This VAT will rwaly expose the real parasites and it will also make all states sit up.
Na 16 Southern Governors. Hope Ozodingba of IMO State say him no wan follow. He wan all Fulani herdsmen to relocate to Imo State.

Lots of states are not viable like ekiti, kogi, let me not go further. We need to go back to regionalism. States is the biggest scam in nigeria. No state can really develop in Nigeria. We need to fall back to regions to stem the tide of poverty in Nigeria.

We are just deceiving ourselves cos that's where we are headed- Regionalism especially with our population

The agency may collapse. I've been telling folks in the last few years that govt jobs in Nigeria no longer make sense. With our population, FG needs to shed more weight to allow the private sector to grow and create jobs

Yes regionalism is okay. But for now some states don't want to follow. Example, when you come to the south east, the Supreme Court governor will be a hindrance.

Collecting it is not the problem but allocation is the problem, how can a state that remit lesser vat be collecting more than those that are remitting the highest vat

Southern Nigerians are fools and all leaders in south are useless fools. How can federal government be collecting state Tax and share with beggars in far North who then uses it to fund terrorism and pay disguise terrorist called bandits? They seta doing nothing, unproductive because the wait for the south to keep feeding them. This is a course. Everything in so called Nigeria is designed to favour the North. They drag the South backwards.
