I watched the match live On TV, I watched the replays on TV and I still believe he chose to hold on to the ball when he shouldn't. It's not rocket science.

The risk of misplacing or over hitting the ball is minimal here.....The Havertz decided to play the ball all by himself doesn't mean there's anything hard in making that simple pass that was required.

1: By the time he settled the ball on his feet, Lukaku was already offside.
2: The only way that ball gets to Lukaku is if he hits the pass one-time as he received it from Kante.
3: The only way he hits the pass one-time is he had noticed Lukaku's run (change of direction) before the ball got to him.
4: One-time weighted pass from the inside foot is difficult to make especially if the pass is going to be short.
5: All of these happened in a second.
