Yeah, I'm aware that Nigeria's main source or revenue is crude oil. But, in situations that include a lawsuit of a particular force, it's mainly the tax payer's that pay for such. And yeah, the revenue from crude oil may also be included, that's why i said it affects the country as a whole!

An Oyo state high court sitting in Ibadan, Friday ordered the Federal Government of Nigeria to pay the sum of N20billion to Chief Sunday Adeyemo also known as Igboho as damages for the invasion of his residence.

That #20Billion could have been used to do other things like Pay workers' salaries, offset some bills, invest in our already dying economy, build facilities like schools, hospitals, etc, but it'll now be given to Igboho and his people, simply because those dumb officials could not follow sensible protocols. At the end of the day, who is losing? It's the citizens, because we're the one that will pay that money from our tax and other revenues.

This is just like saying a company shouldn’t be sued when wrong because the damages paid JUST MIGHT affect the workers salary. A wrong was done. A wrong must be corrected. If 20b was the damages incurred then so be it

Now,let me put it to you in a simple way: the invasion done by the officials on Igboho's home will not only cost the officials, but it will cost the Federal Government and the Country as a whole. The FG's main source of revenue is the Tax (whether direct or indirect).
So, when they're paying Igboho or any other person that sues them; the money comes from the FG and the FG will pay from the taxes that you and I pay to them(the FG).
