This post made for the cursed useless frustrated envious bitter pandax should be saved. This is apt cheesy

Megarule:

Must you find something to criticise? Must you single out something for criticism? Can't you just applaud the effort of the governor and move on? Or better still just say nothing.

Although I'm not in support of the way some persons here (e.g TedHorsePower) reply you and Mktinsight but serious they've had enough. From talks about the ICC and airport being an elephant project to talks about how unnecessary the airport was. Now it's obvious they both aren't elephant project and it's immediately to how steep the escalator looks.

Haaaaaa. Mr man grow up and stop always being silly. Quit inept arguments and childish criticisms. E no make sense at all.

I've always been a read-through person, dropping no comments in the process but I really had to say this. To you and especially to Mktinsight I'd say grow up.

I've never seen you guys applaud any single effort or achievement of the current administration. No positive vibe from you both. Only criticisms and negative comments every now and then. Ain't there anything positive in your lives? Cause the negative energy you guys exhume appears to come from within.

Nawa oooo.

We are from different school of thoughts and we must not reason alike. Variety is the spice of life.

it might interest you to know that the executive governor of the state is a registered member of this site, he reads our constructive criticism s and had been applying some of our recommendation here

I can assure you that the governor values critics more than praise singers. Some of my recommendations here are being implemented, ditto mktinsight and a few others

For record purposes, I never call ICC or the Airport a white elephant projects, but I believe you cannot build a world class facility with IDC as the contractor( similar to Soludo's thesis of building world class economy on a bungalow foundation) after the mess they made with the three(3) Awka flyovers. If you go to that airport you will see distinction between the works done by IDC et al and the ones done by Craneburgh et al. Find out why ICC is grossly behind schedule and over budget, it is because of cutting corners with incompetent contractors that lack the expertise and experience to execute world class projects. Let the governor execute projects with competent contractors like JB, RCC, CCECC, Craneburgh and not Tamad, IDC, and many of his cronies that build roads that July rain only will wash off. I wept the day i saw how they constructed Esther Obiakor Avenue, Awka. The road is parting now. I have seen better and cannot settle for less

Please, those in governance need to be put under tremendous pressure so they can deliver

Ignorant mind, I don't know who informed you that IDC is the company handling ICC, the contractor handling ICC is the same contractor that built Agulu lake hotel, I can see you never mean well for Anambra state, there is nothing wrong with Esther Obiakor road, the contractor that constructed that road is the same company MPI handling millennium city, please show us what you noticed on Esther Obiakor avenue, you are just bitter over Anambra progress,

Below is Esther Obiakor avenue please show us what is bad about the road or out of your envy you want to drag Obiano to the useless governors that has governed and still governing Imo state

Thank you for admitting that ICC is grossly over budget and behind schedule. Thank you for admitting that IDC is incompetent. I never mentioned that IDC is the contractor for ICC, but whomever they are, they are not better than IDC

As for Esther Obiakor Avenue and the greater Demonstration and Mmiri monkey axis, they formed my play ground growing up and i presently have a house there. You showed us cosmetics of the road on the commissioning day. Some areas around Esther Obiakor had water ingress issues or waterlogging issues and any road constructed without these 5 standard of road course, namely subgrade, sub- base, base course, binder course and wearing course, will fail in at most 1 year.

I am a chartered Engineer, quality road construction ended with Ngige. St Joseph Awka Etiti to Ihiala is still standing 10 years after Ngige, ditto Nnobi-Nkpor Road. Most of Obi and Obiano roads have failed because they used incompetent contractors.

Wing Commander Emmanuel Ukaegbu constructed Ifite Road at the cost of 158m in mid 90s and that road is still standing till date. Obi and Obiano had in 2000s extended the road from somewhere around former commissioners quarters to Amansea through Unizik back gate on at least 2 occasions and it has failed again. Ring road has failed, okpuno roads failed. Tell me any road that has not failed in Awka?

My brother, i am not even in opposition, but i want to see Awka with good quality road networks im particular and Anambra in general. I tell same to Obiano. He seems to have changed, albeit, very late

I told you that your lies and propaganda cannot stand here. Take your trash outta here, you have been disgraced and embarrassed enough.

Now you are a chartered engineer, but you spend all the 24hrs on this thread, is this thread where you practice your profession? Why is it that miserable frustrated people always come here to us how they are this and that just to make one useless point, whereas in real life they are just failures. Pandax, you are a failure in life, that's why you camp here night abs day.

You are talking roads, till date, Anambra has the best roads networks in SE. Awka has well paved roads, flyovers, etc. Please tell us what good roads is in your Imo state, particularly Owerri that's littered with almost 100% bad roads.

Pandax, you have failed in your mission here and shall continue to fail.

Stop spewing nonsense, I don't need to measure up with any nonsense, if you don't know what's going on. He is from Imo state, he should focus on his backward imo state. Anambra is doing very well in all spheres of development, so therefore he should go and advice his useless governor in his useless Imo state.

Truly magnificent!!!

Truly modern beautiful International airport with best global practices painstakingly incoporated!

All that is required now is to get truly professional cleaners to scrub the floor and polish it. Of course, they will do that after major construction is over, but they must not fail to do that before official commissioning and opening of the facility for public use.

Little details like that, such as a very clean and polished floor as seen in airports abroad or international hotels in Nigeria will make people appreciate the value of the tiles on the floor and all the work invested in this project.

I agree with Dr Ezeife when he said that he liked Obiano's style of doing international quality work than doing a lot of low-quality crap. I still marvel that a Nigerian governor, particularly a southeast governor would have the audacity to build something that will compete with similar facilities abroad! There is hope for Nigeria if we continue this trend of building things to last and paying attention to QUALITY and detail in public projects.

The airport is now ready for public use.
All facilities required to be completed for safe and comfortable use of the airport by the public have now been completed.

Those asking where booths can be built for immigration & customs when international travel begins can see there is ample space in the arrival section for immigration and customs tables.

Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo will now bring his vast experience to bear in consolidating and building a firm foundation for the economic take-off of the state in particular and Nigeria in general!

We desperately need competent hands with the relevant experience and capacity to solve the formidable challenges of developing Africa. Not the same type of corrupt charlatans and polithiefians who are only interested in obscene looting of the public treasury and condemning Africa to lack of development and perpetual poverty.

Basil, there's nothing like long way to go, the international airport is set to receive both domestic and international passengers as well as cargoes, that's why it has CAT2 lights, CAT9 fire stations, 3.7km runway, etc.

Is there such a thing as CAT2 light standalone? Or do you mean CAT2 ILS?

Yes, there are CAT 2 runway lighting systems and CAT 2 ILS.

I believe the video was posted in this thread a while back in case you prefer a video demo than just researching it. Obiano was right when he said the CAT 2 runway lights had runway Center lights in addition to the edge lights. CAT 1 is just the runway edge lights like we have in Enugu.

The approach lights are part of the ILS system. They are designed to enable the pilot to decide whether to land the plane or not at a certain altitude (The Decision Height). The Cat II systems enable the pilot to make that decision at a much lower altitude than the CAT 1 system. Although Lagos and Abuja airports operate CAT 2 systems, there are CAT 3 systems operated by prime international airports in London, Dubai or New York. The truth is that CAT 3 has more lights installed, but pilots have said it really doesn't provide real advantages over CAT 2. The runway just looks more beautiful because even the touchdown zone has lights in the CAT 3 system.
