Good morning car guru in the house.

Good day.

Many things can cause increase in fuel consumption, but simple things to check are,
- spark plugs
- air filter(are they clogged up and dirty)
- Ignition coil, does it misfire
- Does your exhaust brings out black smoke
- No catalyst presence
- Are you fans running directly
- faulty O2 sensors.
- Faulty mass air flow sensor.
- Check the vacuum pipe/Lines connection

In all scan your vehicle to know what's wrong and post codes here for assistance.
If you don't have a scanner purchase Bluetooth scanner on online.
Even if your car is a V6 I think #1500 for 40mins( assuming you got the correct calculation right) I think the fuel consumption is on a high side.

Just check and revert back.

My bro from what u said 40 mins drive but u didn't indicate if its city drive or highway drive and if there was traffic b4 u reached your destination. 1500 fuel is not up to 10 litres and Naija this days Naira has no value and by d time this useless govt increase fuel to 300 naira per litres, everybody will know scores. I still need more explanation b4 I comment and how many miles u covered in 40mins?

I actually miscalculated. The minutes double by the time I factor in my return from work. Thank you all.

forget the minutes, check the miles, 2k fuel on Es350 (V6 engine) covers 50 miles (city drive) before being empty... that should help you to know if it's fuel efficient.....

N20k fuel a month isn't that expensive either.
