Guess what, FDI are going into corporation ventures of Ghanaian own companies.

Even assuming that was true - I personally dont see a big problem. Of course Kenya has one large african indigenous private sector. When you're under military dictatorship - kenya companies were growing.

As of now - there is local participation requirements - for many sectors.

Nigeria doesn't dominate any country except Ghana. The rest of Francophone West Africa are dominated by France. Kenya has absolute dominance in East Africa - 5 countries - plus few interests all over Africa.

South Africa right now have given up on Sub-Sahara. They cannot hack it - they are running back home. Guess who will fill the void - the nimble Kenyan firms.

You don't see the problems with it for sure... And that's is why more Kenyans will remain poor and dwell in slums..

That demographics keep increasing in your country..

When they stop building - know there is real estate glut - for office spaces - but if they are still building - there is still demand for office space - a sign of thriving private sector.

Thriving private sector lift many out of poverty. Public sector provide the safety net for the poor.

If like Ghana - you lack a private sector - just public sector and informal sector - everyone will want to emigrate abroad to get a decent job.

I think you making a mistake by looking at old Johannesburg, Johannesburg has expanded north it is not a skyscrapper race. But development race

If you pick one random year - you'll get random results - if you analyaze the last 20 yrs - there is no doubt Kenya would come the very top of many East Africa countries.

Take Tanzania for example - There are more than 500 kenya companies. In Uganda more than 350 companies. Name any of these countries...kenya companies are gazillion.

We have been investing in them since late 90s.

There is no expansion - just 3-4 main cities built by the Boer - that ANC has been unable to spur a similar growth. Meanwhile your peers like Thailand, Indonseia...upper middle income countries..are building so many cities.

Soweto is not developed. It's just a black neighborhood - a relic of apartheid. You were kept so far from Joburg - where you need to get jobs. There are no industries or offices to employ anybody - just abandoned pits of gold mines.

When occupancy ratio is below 10% then you should know that it is a yahoo scheme that has been built because of lack of opportunities...


Unfortunately, Ghana does not lack a private sector and the private sector is the engine of growth of the Ghanaian economy and the largest employer. And that is why a lot of Ghanaians are out of the poverty gap.

I hope you private sector grows so that you guys can get out of poverty
