Based on first day impressions I never saw Cross reaching the top five nor did I picture Pere. Emmanuel didn’t shock me because a borite most times creeps into the finals.

Three characters actually defined this season:
Maria
Whitemoney
Pere.
Maria and Whitemoney were dragging the fans' favourite until Pere happened.
The wildcards thing really brought Pere and Maria together and they teamed up to play the rest of the HMs. Smart guys.
But just like in reality, business before pleasure. Pere who has seen that they've scaled the wildcards hurdle, wanted more from Maria. This time, her heart.
But, it appeared to Pere that Whitemoney is eyeing Maria too, and he needed to take him out. Yes, Maria was the reason for Pere and Whitemoney fallout. But the insecurity was from Pere.
So Pere lost the compass of the game. Now, he is after Helen of Troy.
So Pere manipulated Maria into believing that:
1. Cooking is strategy
2. Whitemoney is fake.
So fans, who saw all these scheming by Pere and Maria were all waiting for them to misfire. And it didn't take long, it happened.
Whitemoney, according to fans was loyal to Maria and saw no reason while Maria will nominate him. So the table turned for Whitemoney and he go the first bandwagon of sympathetic fans.
As luck shone on Whitemoney again, Pere won HoH.
So the General, having succeeded in winning Maria over, told her that the time to act is now.
Act what? Remove Whitemoney from the kitchen, where he used to evade nominations.
As always, the fans were watching. And Nigeria is a country where the masses hate oppression and do little to stop it, because we have limited influence. But in this case, they have all the influence, so they adopted Whitemoney.
This was were Whitemoney sealed the show. He won second wave of bandwagon of sympathetic fans, when none of his competition has been tested. This actually guaranteed his top 6 position.
This also placed Pere and Maria as two villains. But you know that in our society, women are judged harshly. So Maria was sacrificed in all of this.
Verdict:
Pere spoilt Maria game
Pere gave WM the edge

So when the things of the heart started weighing down the General and his estranged lady, there were efforts on both sides to fight emotions. They pushed it to an extent and got tired.
Maria started marking territory. While Pere continued living in denial. This made Maria to start picking on female HMs who she thought were eyeing Pere. Angel and Queen were cases.
On the outside, the feminists coven took her case personal. One of their influencers had to posit that Maria was fighting female HMs because of man. So she was decampaigned seriously and her fans, who were barely growing, no strong root yet, got cold feet and didn't bother to vote.
Verdict
1. Maria was smart but not wise. She did well by trying to be the focus, but she didn't know what to do with the attention. She picked fights with underdogs and her opinions were considered outrageous and uncalled for. If she had picked fight with Rose, the two fan base will slug it out. And fans fight is one of the main ingredient of building a strong fan base.
2. Pere was a distractions to her.
Pere.
He is the luckiest of the top 6.
Reason is: he was knowingly or unknowingly pushing Maria to fights but people judged the tool more harshly than the user.
He gained some Maria fringe fans and even some hardcore because at the time Maria left, no much commitment that would have kept her fans. So just like sheep without shepherd, the scattered.
It was after the exit of Maria that people knew Pere was just in the league of Niyi. No content, no activities. Just talk, do games and other routine. He couldn't even win tasks.
So luck smiled at him.
Decampaigning of Whitemoney. Some section of fans, who watch the show for toxicity think that Whitemoney is the reason there won't DQ, fights etc. So these BBN fans latched into what Pere said earlier in the show about Whitemoney being fake, and magnified it.
So this gave Pere his own bandwagon without doing much. And these section of fans cut across all the fan base. So they all pitched their tent with Pere; while occasionally hype their first loves.
Top 6 twist
The sentiments were in his favor. Even his competition fan base supported him.
This is were Pere sealed his top 3 spot. He won some neutrals over and would've consolidated if there was time.
Finally, if Whitemoney wins, credit should be given to Maria first, then Whitemoney and finally Pere.
But if he doesn't win, then all credit to Rose fans who believed against all hope because the beat a movement like WMG.
