Racoon:Mr man there is no parasite state in this country. There is nothing extra ordinary that Wike is doing to enhance VAT in Rivers that Tambuwal cannot do in Sokoto. It is just by virtue of proximity to the resources Nigeria had developed and presently earning living from it. If every state exploits their natural comparative advantages due to their GPS , I think state like Kogi will start taxing any person traveling across the state whether air, road. That alone is enough revenue for Kogi State for example. By so doing Nigeria will eventually disintegrate into pieces and become lawless due to multiple laws from each state. Each state governor will become local warlord. That will bring no peace. Stop thinking the northerners are parasite, not educated, etc, they are not. Such thinking will spell doom for the south by the time we come to reality. |

Adamawa, Kaduna. Not surprised. The thieves from the North that want the fraudulent status quo to continue. The suprise will be if they choose to do the right thing of quashing the imbalance and deceptive status quo and forge an egalitarian arrangement forward. Lazy heads that are ready to do "North-ing" but quickly run to the table where proceeds from the hardworking people are being shared. When is Kano, the |

Trimjos:Your English is disgusting, I knew why I made that example. It is the smallest, simplest example in a chaotic but disarrayed atmosphere. If someone that can write the way I just did is an illiterate then I wonder which dictionary or the school you attended. In a family, society or sovereignty where mutual love and respect is lost due to whatever reason, you cannot predict the possible outcomes. You hates the north and you want them to love you and you still claim academic sophistication over them, just wondering anyway. So anyone who is not western is not civilised. Check your DNA. Not everyone is interested in American green card for example too. There are beggers in US. Moreover, 500 naira can give me a plate of food with meat in Kano while the equivalent in dollars cannot give in those countries. |

Safyqueen:Your Kogi example is very wrong, you don’t get taxed by the Benin republic and the Togolese government while traveling through their country to Ghana from Nigeria, rather they tax goods and services that emanates from their various country that you are interested in. The North can look inward and generate a lot of revenue from her huge population. But if they are looking at retaliatory taxation of the South if the VAT issue goes in favour of the South, they can impose a levy of say 50,000 per truck of farm produce that originates from their various states, while the South will equally do so on petroleum products, imported goods and machinery and farm produce that originated from theirs, that way it will be a win win situation for everyone. Nobody hates the North, just that the North needs to wake up and partner with the South to modernize governance, Nigeria can’t continue like this. |

Trimjos:A blind cannot see and not his fault. Each gives what he has. Don't think on how to upgrade your life rather continue to hate the north because of Buhari. The outcome of eventual disintegration of this country will humble every mofos that are thinking they have academic excellence over others now. |

Nnannapat:I almost typed this but kept reading to see if anyone has made the point already and there you are. Thanks for this. It will be a win-win when we start looking at the bigger picture and not the human. There are so many methods and ways to generate VAT but our governors are too lazy to look inwards. |

omowolewa:Their problem is not about who collects the money. If FIRS wins the case, it's as if the federal goverment won the case. The whole idea of joining suit with FIRS is so that the federal goverment should keep taking money from states that contribute more to develop states that contribute less. |
