550 here in Ogun
That's an old price. Go back to where you bought it for 550 and see that it has increased to at least 600/kg

We can't continue to subsidize fuel. Subsidy must go for this country to move forward.
They lied to you. Subsidy isn’t holding Nigeria back but irresponsible leadership. We’ve had subsidized petroleum products since 1973. Go figure.

You had the chance to deregulate the price of petrol in 2016,you did not grab it. You had another chance to deregulate the price last year during the pandemic lockdown when the international price of oil collapsed, you failed to seize the opportunity.

You're now here shedding crocodile tears. You said organized labour was against it. Do you think OBJ or the Jonathan did not face the same pressure. They chose to take the fight headon. You're here just blaming the wind.

You spent the way out of recession. Why doesn't that surprise anyone. Throughout your 6 years in office, the economy has never grown up to 3% a year. 3 out of the 6 years, the economy was in a recession due to your incomprehensible forex policies.

The Naira is under pressure again and your incompetent meddling in the CBN forex policy has exerberated the problem.

I can't even spend more than $100 a month with my debit card. Prior to your ascending office, the limit was $1,000 a day.

How do you get your stock that you sell at 550/kg and you still make profit and cover your overhead?

The great fear about subsidy removal isn't the hardship it will bring, but the fact that the extra money its removal will help put in government's hand will just be used to do the usual kind of infrastructure that has paralyzed the system. If for example fuel subsidy removal savings was used to banish unstable power and food shortage, people will be less opposed to subsidy removal. But expect the govt to simply award questionable contracts as usual. Look at that rail project that goes to Kano and towards Niger republic. Look at how politicians are still hijacking employments and interventions. Look at the corruption that has prevailed so far in the so called administration of anti corruption crusaders. Let every other subsidy be removed but fuel should be maintained partially. I suggest they move it to around N200 a litre to help readjust the burdern ratio on the masses and govt accordingly.

Spending out of recession is another great evil economic strategy. We have spent our way out of recession and into crippling debts. The flaws are laid bare and the result is increases in price all round.

He added that the subsidy on petrol significantly eroded revenues that should have been available to fund this year’ Appropriation Act.
That's where the real meat of the matter is.

But the thing is, Nigerians love subsidy. Even when it is forcing us into more debt...they love subsidy.

The people of Nigeria deserve subsidies, this is the only thing we enjoy from national wealth, no welfare, nothing. Find a way to remove the subsidy corruption.
