in develop western world, petroleum products are moved from place through rail. The complain from this guys are the federal roads. If petrol is moved from Lagos to Benue by rail and supplied to NNPC depot, tankers, filling stations can pick up from there. With this, even our federal roads will last longer.

Because we dont have a functioning nationwide railway and waterway transport system, all the frieght transport in this country is by roads and that puts pressure on the roads.

Thats on government ( in fairness to the goverment though they are fixing the railways but it would take lots of time to get them running well)

Make use of rails and transport those products from the petrol farms in Lagos and wherever they are to the states. Benue of course has NNPC depot. Let this tanker guys pick up petrol from the state depot to the various destinations within the States. If that is done, of course it will reduce pressure on those federal roads. It will then become the responsibility of the state government to fix up their road and if need be, create routes for them. This is logical. But I wonder how some of you think. And I educated you that the Western world use pipeline not rail to transport petrol products. I gave you two examples of such pipelines. In fact, even the NNPC used pipeline to transport fuel products until the pipelines were destroyed due to lack of proper maintenance.

Besides, when you say the tankers should wait until the rails are completed. May I ask the timeline for the completion? Also, are you implying that the rails are meant to replace the roads?

Do trailers not move on federal roads in the western world? If federal roads are to be abandoned for rail, why should state govs fix theirs? You are just too dumb to know anything. Also note that some of those NNPC depots are even located along federal roads. And can rail reach every place where NNPC depot is located?
