jl115:The emboldened is the figure back in 2017. We've done alot on road infrastructure during 3yrs. And mind you, jorburg is bigger in geographical size. We should also try to view it in that perspective. And by that I mean, if you could just give us the percentage of tarred road network for both jorburg and Nairobi, then your point will hold water. You're just escaping the fact that Nairobi is catching up with jorburg in the near future. Jorburg infrastructural boom ended after apartheid. The black took over and the rate of development is as low as any southern African countries. |

No problem. Kenya will still overtake ceteris peribus unless you wake up. Kenya GDP will likely triple in 10-15yrs to 300B plus. South Africa since 2010 - you're basically stuck btw 300-400B. It's called the middle class rut. jl115: |

Mkenya2019:that probably the most ret@rded thing said today.... If your government doesn't know how much roads there are how the fvck do they maintain them or have control about where private companies build them? Surely you need approval to build infrastructure in kenya? |

AfriqueDuZuid:5yrs ago. This place was empty. Jorburg is the same since 2000 with maybe one or two additional buildings.

| Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by Mkenya2019: 12:30pm On Oct 09, 2021 |
They are main types of the roads 1) KENHA - main highways - they count and maintain theirs 2) KURA - main urban roads - they count and maintian 3) KENHA - main rural roads. Those 3 are under KRB - Kenya Road Boards - and those are counted and maintaned by national gov. 4) Roads under counties - these are main streets - but not estate or roads to your driveway. 5) Estate roads - these are private roads. Before your plan is approved - you are required to show how you'll pave the roads. For example - Tatu city has paved their roads - gov will not go and count those roads. jl115: |

Shma:-Yes and the figure I posted for Johannesburg is also from 2017....and there have been massive developments and upgrades on its road network since then. - Johannesburg is only 1600km2 and it has a paved road network nearly the size of your entire country.... I've posted the links just yesterday as well - cool story bro and in 10years you'll still be blabbering about catching Joburg in 10 years |

I thought I admitted the paved road outside Nairobi City - in Nairobi metro is a patchy - and that is why we need 10yrs to work on them. Within Nairobi city itself - it's going to be hard to get unpaved roads outside slums (who occupy 5 percent of Nairobi built up area) - and roads in national parks - that will remain unpaved for ecological reason. Thika is 40kms from Nairobi. AfriqueDuZuid: |

Thika town is 40kms from Nairobi City, It's part of the Nairobi Metro. Nairobi Metro has huge infrastructure deficit. Now concentrate on Nairobi city. Play around 20kms raidus max of Nairobi. From 20kms to 60kms - that is Nairobi Metro. AfriqueDuZuid: |

Nairobi city is circular. Nairobi is about 15-20kms radius from the city center. Nairobi metro start from 20-60kms - radius. Nairobi like Joburg is not a coastal city. AfriqueDuZuid: |
