All the Oil producing states in Nigeria still look so poor and dirty. No meaningful infrastructural projects no good roads no good affordable housing units for average citizens of the state. I was part of a Boundaries Commission delegation to the area in 2008 and seismic reports confirmed commercial oil in the Anambra basin at the boundary of all 3 states, with similar amounts in Enugu and Anambra as per the current boundary delineation, however the tricky bit is Kogi claims their true boundaries lay further into Enugu and Anambra, with documents provided of similar land disputes dating back to the 1960's.

The case has gone beyond just defining who has oil to redefining state boundaries, but NBC is clearly not funded as at yet to deliver this judgment truly and impartially.

Enugu was the capital of Anambra. It means from time immemorial the entire territory (ie old eastern region) was controlled by Enugu. If their are resources along it's boundaries what Anambra, they should have a say.

Boundaries belong to States whose lands were earmarked to create it you cannot establish a boundary with kogi without cutting across another States boundary especially states at closest proximity.

So we are still in 1986 abi that you walk into another state to claim their resources?

Capital of Anambra state as it stands now is Awka.

Anambra has commercial quantity of oil and gas with over 15 wells. Today there's Sterling oil from India producing/mining oil at Ogbaru area of Anambra while Orient is at Otuocha areas of Anambra also mining.

You cannot get oil status without investment in the production. In a nutshell, Enugu doesn't have oil.

Yes, you can get oil status without investment in production in Nigerian law. There are no other prerequisites other than commercial finding of oil.
