Good day nairalanders.
I'm AOL, a certified and registered cordwainer (shoe maker) with over 3 years of experience in footwear production.

I notice leather selection or identification is a major problem for most people as they tend to look exactly most of the time like synthetic leather which are artificial materials and not suitable for long term use.

Often leather is a material that slippers are made of, like Aolfooties Slippers. The problem is that sometimes imitations appear on the market, so what can we do to make sure the slippers we want are real leather?

1. Sight: Leather is usually easy to see at first sight. The texture and the pores are very distinctive, making it relatively easy for the eye to recognize.

2. The touch: Leather feels soft and it’s a flexible and smooth material. Synthetic products are usually much harder.

3. Fold it: Genuine leather folds in a gentle manner. It doesn't wrinkle easily because of the firmness that can be found in the curve. Synthetic leather does not deliver such a smooth curving.

4. Buy from a trusted vendor: make sure you always make your purchase from a trusted seller, which a high percentage of made in Nigeria footwears delivers well on. Aolfooties have varieties of leather works in stocks with nationwide delivery (check my signature).

I hope this helps when next you buying a leather shoe.
