The sight of a snake alone irritates me. This creature is the one I dread and detest most especially for the fact that its bite, if from a venomous one, is almost a sure certificate of death. The antivenom is not readily available, expensive, if available, and even species- specific. Before all these is settled, the victim would have set on his journey to the great beyond.

Water snake. It feeds on fishes and eels plus other medium size crustaceans. That's why it has no fangs.

That's cobra or water snake na...

Probably was crossing before it got trapped, or your net cut a small prey that attracted the snake..

This is. Spitting cobra.. Their fangs is always retracted up on their upper jaw... Next time don't joke with a snake with the head still intact.. That u cut the head from the body doesn't make it less dangerous, it can still bite and kill as it is.. They are excellent swimmers yoo

That's not a snake. it's called "Adagba" in Yoruba language.
I think it must be eel in English.
Check its back, if it has some fin-like spikes, and also has a fish-like tail, it's an eel, not a snake.
Mind, the spikes fold back once you raise any of them up.
