Excatly what a wanted to say, just write to cbn and whoever is in position of your money being it interswitch or wema bank will refund your money immediatly , do it as soon as possible to avoid stories.

I have a serious problem; how do I recover my money from Wema Bank!

On the 4th of October 2021, I transferred some money from my Wema Bank account to the Zenith bank account of a supplier who is supposed to supply some equipment needed for the setting up of a business outlet. The money was debited from me but the beneficiary says he is yet to to receive the money. I started making complaints to Wema Bank from 5th of October via emails, phone calls and physical visitation to their branch. Up till now (17th October 2021; 13 days after) the money is yet to be refunded.

Wema bank says the money is not with them, since I used a Fidelity Bank ATM to do the transfer, I requested they write officially to Zenith bank requesting if the beneficiary has been credited but they refused. They said the money is with Interswitch. I have requested they call someone in Interswitch to expedite action on it but they said they don't have the contact.

I don't want to talk yet of how I was humiliated when I peacefully insisted they must refund my money or at least tell me when the issue will be resolved. The important thing is that up until now, I don't even know when it will be resolved despite all my efforts. My first priority is to recover the money so I can buy the goods and set up my shop (then later, seek advice on how to get justice). Am I supposed to wait indefinitely?

Please, Nairaland family, I need your advice on how best to recover those funds. My mental health is at stake here!

I have the reference number since I now have their bank app. I was able to retrieve it from the transaction history, how do I proceed?

Hi,
Did you try to check the transfer status? Reason is because funds in transit often reversed automatically or manually even without complain.
Also what was the message on the ATM receipt?
Did you press the beneficiary very well? What if he's not telling the truth?
When you sent a mail to Wema bank head office what was the response you received?
Know that every fund that moves through electronic channels cannot disappear.
Your money is not lost provided it passed through electronic channel.

Why didn’t you just fill out an error dispense form @ your bank & claim you transferred money to a recipient & did not receive value for the payment, why all the wahala, They will call the recipient to hear his own side of the story of the money that has been deposited in the Zenith account, before they trace it & recall it.

I did all of this, it wasn't reversed. No receipt was printed but I received a debit alert. I have seriously pressed the beneficiary, I even requested he goes to his bank and get official hardcopy statement of account. They said they are working on it, when I ask them how long it will take, they will go mute!

Sorry for the stress bro.
Go to any bank branch of the beneficiary and explain the issue to them and beg them to help you check the beneficiary account if the fund actually hit his account or not.
Screen shot the debit leg on your account and show them politely, they will actually check for you.
