it is not poverty, bamboo is good, you need to learn about traditional architecture and strength of materials though

I'm a Civil Engineer and bamboo has pretty much no tensile strength. It can be used for scaffolding but NOT as reinforcement. This is DANGEROUS and UNETHICAL!

it is not dangerous or unethical it is okay for a bungalow... How did you think they built houses in traditional architecture
The world has evolved with technology so we forgot those things, but some country builders still go with it, just because we don't use it in Nigeria doesn't mean it is not ideal .... But on a serious note, I would go for steel any day any time.
