On election day in all election booths all around Anambra you will see inec adhoc staffs !
When the time for collation of votes comes
Whoever has the highest votes will be declared the governor of Anambra state even if it is one vote!

The whole No Election stuff is a tricky one.

Election or no election, someone will rule Anambra after Obiano.

But that's where the issue will begin. Let's check the following scenarios

:Scenario 1: No election, and Military Administrator is appointed.

This will lead to further insecurity, and more sit at home in the state. FG will be force to commit more scarce resources to maintain law and order. Expenses on security will increase, creating gaps in other theater of war around the country, which will be exploited.

:Scenario 2:

Poor turnout, and FG choice is pronounced winner:

This will lead to further insecurity, and much more sit at home in the state, and other forms of mass mobilization. Plus IPOB will use this 'fraud' as a vindication of their position that the system is rigged against them.

:Scenario 3: Poor turnout, and the people's choice is pronounced winner:

Insecurity level will be determined by the acceptance level of such winner. IPOB will seek to negotiate with the winner, and only his response/body language will determine the level of insecurity. Sit at home will still apply every now and then.

:Scenario 4: Postpone the election.

That's like postponing the inevitable.

Options:

For IPOB:

Dig in, but reduce the days of sit at home to two days - 5th and 6th. This will frustrate the conduct of the election, while giving the people chance to breath. The people are the reason for the struggle, so they should be carried along so they can live to fight another day.

For Govt:
Postpone the election for a while, and re-access your position. IPOB has shown to be formidable, and capable of mobilizing the people. If the election must hold, then they should 'ensure' the outcome is 'favourable' to the people. i.e people's choice. Alternatively, Government can declare the election inclusive and go for :Scenario: 1. Then we shall all hold our breath and see who blinks first.

Postpone the election till when? See, even if it’s one person that vote, it will be recorded and a winner declared. IPOB can not hold the country to ransom so postponing the election is not an option.

Which law or precedence are you quoting?

The election will forever remain inconclusive as number of voters from polling stations where elections weren't conducted will be higher than the difference between the two leading candidate.

All your scenarios ignore the Constitutional provisions on the matter hence they are wrong. The election holds regardless of the sit at home. As long anyone votes within the 3rd round the winner is declared.

You clearly never read the constitution hence why you're surprised about what he's saying. The easiest thing do is simply a run off elections. The 3rd round is simple majority.

They just don't get it!

The electoral system has so much been made to off set anyone who chooses not to vote for whatever reason!

Once there is a vote and it is accredited .it is counted as valid

So therefore there will be a governor for Anambra wether anybody likes it or not

Lol I've literally quoted the constitution to them 4 years ago yet this dumb conversation happens every election cycle. They simply don't learn no matter how often its tried. This sit at home probably benefits APC more than PDP considering they more opposed to IPOB.

If INEC is planning on Anambra elections without addressing the issue of IPOB sit-at-home, it will amount to waste of scarce resources. Why do we like to deceive ouselves in Nigeria, for goodness sake? Who are the adhoc staff that will risk their lives going to polling stations? How can a mere 5000 police, some of whom are sympathetic to IPOB cause control a people of over 3 million population of which about 95% believe that elections should not hold? How will INEC handle logistics with sit-at-home commencing on Nov 5? If INEC is not deluded, by now it would have postponed the elections by one week to November 13 2031. That way, the trial date for Nnamdi Kanu would have passed and stakeholders' negotiation with IPOB deepened, however, if INEC insists on November 6, then they will meet a deserted state like whar Buhari met on the day he visited IMO state, with only Uzodinma and his family alone around the airport to receive him. Even APC chieftains will not dare go out to vote.
They was also no election declaration by ipob in 2017 in Anambra and election held. It won't be any different

Stop misreading the constitution and the electoral act. This is clearly a case of constitutional crises. It wasn't envisage hence a crises.

You are confused. If INEC, the institution responsible to hold elections are not able to send materials or staff to a polling station for whatever reasons especially non availability of polling workers, the election will be rescheduled. It will be canceled.

I don't understand this quark interpretation of INEC dereliction of duty to mean election was held with or without elections and any figure can suffice in this digital age where ward results are posted real-time on INEC website.

Stop bringing sentimentalism into seriously debate.

Lol you're comments are getting long winded and dull. Who told you INEC is unable to conduct the election when they already do so in places like Borno. They can always use NYSC as adhoc staff and send some from outside states. Maybe you're admitting the IPOB terrorists planning on making it impossible to do their jobs. If the sit at home is peaceful event like always nothing happens but potential run off elections. Read the constitution instead of making dumb comments.

The IPOB terrorists are simply trying to tell us they want to make the election impossible. Why would INEC have any issue conducting the election if they're engaging in a peaceful sit at home? Sit at home I'd like to see run off elections. It be very interesting.

On the day of the election, the Security Agencies will provide security for the INEC officials to make sure, the ballot papers get to everywhere they intended.

Even if only 1000 people turned up and cast their votes, it would be tabulated and added up, winner declared.

Even the politicians will have the opportunity to pad the figures and INEC will have no option than to announce result collated from the field..

There is a possibility of a run off elections but I want to see if on that day which of the political parties will get hit at the polls!
Will Apga have it's electoral votes lost or will Apc receive a lifeline to win the election because other electoral parties did not /could not put a good challenge!
Surprises awaits for the eventual winner
I just keep laughing at myself because of a possibility of APC clinching the ticket

I knew that it would be suicidal for IPOB to go against the US warning. Immediately the US consul issued a visa ban on any trouble maker that disrupt Anambra elections, I knew IPOB would buckle. If they did not, it would have given the US enough reasons to rethink their position on IPOB. As most of their leaders are outsude Nigeria, this would have exposed their "non-violence" posture for tge world to see.
