Kenya is nearing 2B dollars of food imports - most of it from our EAC - Uganda and Tanzania - mostly maize, beans and such. Roughly we import about 600M from Uganda and 200m from Tanzania - to kenya - with balance of about 1.2B dollars from shipped elsewhere. Ethiopia is starting to also export food to Kenya.

According to Uganda Bureau of Statistics, on annual basis, Uganda produces 2.8 million metric tons of maize and close to 90% of this is exported as grain to Kenya

We import about 0.5M tonnes of rice mostly from Pakistani. We also import some wheat from Europe/North America. Few oranges/apples from South Africa/Egypt. End of story.

But remember we export food worth 3-4b dollars.

On another point ,if your father is indeed a transporter, he will by now be broke, cus at this moment , there is no way he can cross from aflao to let say Accra before he faces elubo to abbiaso down to Abidjan . Ghana already has his border closed . Unless your father fly

Your father will have no choice if he must survived now. Is either, he is now a smuggler or perhaps rest on your said apartment( that is if one exist) Abidjan is not as free as Ghana , your father will surely find it difficult to make money on such property , your father dare not charge ivorian more than three month of rent . And believe me if your father only source of hope is his that apartment , then you are in trouble .
