I remember during the last gubernatorial campaign when Willie announced that he will build an airport. I told my friend who was supporting Obaze about it... He said we are all daft, that it will not happen and that Willie will disappoint us. We almost betted on it.
Fast forward to 3 yrs plus... ANAMBRA CAN NOW BOAST OF AN AIRPORT. WILLIE KEPT HIS PROMISE.
If he didn't do anything again I am satisfied that for the first time a politician made a promise and delivered as promised.

Anambra State Government Kicks As NCAA Suspends Commissioning of Anambra International Airport

Anambra State government has raised alarm over alleged plan to scuttle the proposed commissioning ceremony of the Anambra International Airport, scheduled to hold this Saturday, 30th October, 2021.

The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C-Don Adinuba who stated this in Awka gave it a political colouration, stating that he was informed that they cited security as reason for the cancellation.

The Commissioner communicated the disappointment of ndi Anambra about the development, stressing that most Anambra people believe that it is politically motivated.

Commissioner Adinuba further revealed that the governor is already discussing with the highest authority in the land, because President Mohammadu Buhari is not in the country at the moment, assuring that the issue will be resolved.

He stated that the entire development is suspect because the state government met all requirements for the approval in line with international standards.

Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri will be commissioned officially tomorrow, Saturday, October 30, 2021 as originally planned.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), which had earlier demobilized its equipment, is right now re-mobilizing.

Governor Willie Obiano, who went to Abuja this morning to neutralize the poisoned arrows from opponents is back in the state. He returned with every necessary paper and even more.

Kudos to Anambra people and their ebullient leader who fights like a lion.

IPOB has sadly refused to ask themselves "WHOSE INTEREST DOES IT SERVE TO KILL IGBOS IN IGBOLAND?"
