Abnot and JohnbullMyson made a lot of sense. Your brains are still intact. It has not been twisted by crumbs from the master's table or sentiment. There would have been no reason on earth for commercial flight to start at the Airport given the uncompleted terminal building. If that happens, the NCAA would lose its credibility and international flights may stop coming to Nigeria because of fear of safety compromise. |

Take your useless post out of here this agadi nwoke. The terminal building has been completed and planes had before now landed at the airport through the order of NCAA. So whatever happened last Saturday that made air peace not to land was purely political. I hope you have bought good soap and cream to fix that your wrinkled hands. [s] Mathoj:[/s] |

Very educative
HERE ARE SOME FACTS ABOUT THE NEWLY ✅It was built in a record time of 15 months by the Willie Obiano led Anambra State Government. The government did not borrow a kobo nor did it seek any form of financial aid to build the airport. ✅ The airport was built by nine contractors and nine service providers. None of the contractors or service providers is owed a kobo. ✅A test flight was performed on April 30, 2021. The first plane that landed in the airport was a plane from the AIR PEACE fleet belonging to Chief Allen Onyema, a worthy son of Anambra State. ✅The airport is expected to create about 1000 direct and indirect jobs. ✅The Anambra International Cargo and Passenger airport is a legacy of the Willie Obiano led APGA administration. A promise that was fulfilled after three decades. OTHER REMARKABLE FEATURES OF THE ANAMBRA AIRPORT INCLUDE: 1. SIZE: The Anambra International cargo and passenger airport is a Category ( CAT ) 4F airport. This means that an A380 aircraft or an Airbus can land comfortably in the airport. 2. THE RUNWAY: The runway is the second-longest runway in Nigeria with: - Length - 3.7km and a runway end safety area (RESA) of 1km at both ends of the runway. - Width - 60 m - Strip - 440 metres on either side of the runway - Thickness - 270mm 3. RUNWAY LIGHTING: The runway is equipped with CAT 2 lighting system. This implies that a plane can be guided by the light to land safely even in adverse weather conditions. 4. SATELLITE LANDING SYSTEM: The airport is equipped with a satellite landing system (SLS). This provides for satellite assisted landing of aircraft should the runway lights fail for any reason. The airport also has Instrument landing system, ILS, which ensures that aircrafts are vertically and horizontally aligned with the runway while landing. 5. TAXI WAY: The airport has two taxiways. 6. THE APRON: The airport apron measures 300 metres by 200 metres. - It can accommodate 8 Boeing 747 aircraft at the same time. - It is built on a rigid pavement of concrete with a thickness measuring 560mm and reinforced top and bottom with concrete measuring 16mm in thickness. - The Apron is built to repel water. So even when it rains, water runs off the surface easily. 7. THE CONTROL TOWER: At a height of 34.5 metres, the control tower of the airport is the tallest in Nigeria. - It is built with concrete top to bottom - It is the height of an 11 storey building. - The control tower has nine suspended floors. - It is equipped with a lift and a staircase. - Both the lift and staircase are fireproof. - It is also equipped with biometric security doors. - Every room in the control tower and indeed the entire airport is equipped with a water sprinkler. - However, the control tower has a self fire fighting system that triggers off when there's a fire emergency. 8. THE TERMINAL BUILDING: The terminal building is designed to accommodate 400 passengers. Other features include: - A departure and arrival lounge - There are 36 shops in the building - There are three lifts and three escalators - Two Avio bridges each equipped with dual boarding passages. This means that four aircraft can take passengers at the same time. 9. RESCUE AND FIRE FIGHTING SERVICES: The airport is CAT 9 airport - It has three fire tenders (fire engines) that can shoot water up to the height of the control tower. - The tenders can be controlled by the driver alone. - The airport is also equipped with 20 hydrants. 10. WATER: The airport is equipped with two industrial boreholes which pump water into: - Tank 1 - 640 cubic metres - Tank 2 - 240 cubic metres - There's also a water treatment plant that takes water to overhead tanks. -The total volume of overhead tanks is 123 cubic metres. 11. POWER: A 33 KVA line drawn from Agụ Awka to the airport guarantees an 18-hour power supply. - Two units of 500KVA generators serve as a backup to provide power always. 12. CAR PARK: The car park is aphalted and properly marked. It is designed to accommodate about 750 vehicles. 13. AIRPORT ROAD: The airport road has two access roads. The first and major airport road measures about 5.7km and connects the Onitsha-Enugu expressway to the airport. It is a dual carriageway road fitted with a bridge on either side of the carriageway. It has drainages on both sides. The road is completed, clearly marked and fitted with streetlights. The second airport road measures about 4km and connects the airport to the Nteje-Umueri-Aguleri road. The driveways within the airport are all asphalted and marked. Ndị Anambra, behold your airport. Built, equipped and launched by Gov Willie Mmaduaburochukwu Obiano, yesterday Saturday, 30th October, 2021. Akpọkuedike has done it. APGA did it. What seemed a fairy tale is finally a reality.
|

chiefobdk2:If the airport got certified as they claim they should post a scanned copy of the certification for us to see. Bayelsa airport was completed by Seriake dickson. An airpeace flight conveying the CEO, ben bruce and some other dignitaries got approval to land at the airport in 2019 . Seriake dickson also landed at the airport in a chartered aircraft a number of times. But NCAA did not certify the airport for commercial operations till just a few months ago (2 years later). One of the issues NCAA raised was the perimeter fencing around the water not meeting their security specification. Commercial flights (united nigeria airline) began operations only about 2 months ago. There was no dragging of NCAA. Today same air peace has stopped operating into Makurdi after a short stint following airport certification issues. RCCG recently sold its helicopter after issues with NCAA. Air peace plan to launch its route to London has been pending with NCAA for 3 years (the CEO himself mentioned that). After the medview ban NCAA seems to have introduced their own processes before allowing a nigerian registered airline to apply for EASA Third country Operator (TCO) . Air peace is suffering from owner-manager syndrome where the owner (allen onyema) is making decisions that a professional airline manager will not do. The decision to sell tickets with the assumption that NCAA will approve the October 30 flight was most likely the doing of allen onyema and willie obiano for political reasons. No professional run airline will rush to start operations into a new airport. After the replacment of Enugu airport runway ethiopian airline announced resumption date and moved it a few times citing security and other issues. Today ethiopian has resumed operations there after a number of back and forth . I'll like to also add that when airpeace bought three jets from embraer this 2021 they went through a lot of regulatory tests before putting the aircrafts into commercial use. Before scaling through the regulatory hurdles they still flew empty to a number of airports to simulate their operations as a company before the demonstration flights with NCAA begun. It was after this they launched commercial operations on the new aircraft. Aircrafts are not Cars. Same way Airports are not motor parks. |

Get out from here this slowpoke, who are you that air peace or even anyone at all would want to prove anything to you via certificate? Anambra international airport has got all the certifications to operate about 3 airlines, not just air peace. So take your gibberish out here, no one owes you any explanation. Clowns coming here to feel like wetin I no know. [s] abnot:[/s] |

Security is now top notch in Anambra state. There will be constant police and army patrols on election day. All entry and exit points into and from the state will be on lockdown especially Imo and Enugu boundaries. So any unknown gunman or Ipob who comes out to disturb the peace that day will surely return to his maker because there won't be any chance to escape. Ndi Anambra must not let our state be captured by the same forces that caged Mbadinuju and Ngige. We can only prevent that by coming out to vote. Vote Professor Chukwuma Soludo. Vote APGA. |

My point is that you are a miscreant and doesn't require anyone proving anything to you let alone air peace. No one needs your validation either because the international airport has been approved and about 3 airlines assigned to it. So take your useless post to another thread that concerns your state. abnot:Absolute nonsense.. If Allen Onyema was taking decisions arbitrarily like you are saying, why hasn't he nor Airpeace been sanctioned by NCAA. Or you think something as sensitive as flights could be played with by an individual... Has NCAA come out to say the airport has not been certified for commercial operations, where did you get your beer parlour gists from. Also why was the flight called off by FG on the scheduled date, after being advertised, people were already checking in at Abuja and Lagos airports before the flight was canceled. Enemies of progress like you and others applauding you are busy praying the Airport does not function, we've seen through your shenanigans, from Anambra does not need an airport, to the airport will be abandoned and now to this.. The issues surrounding the airport are clearly about the elections and get ready to cry after the elections because flight would start taking off. Ndi Nzuzu |

globemoney01:Anambra airport will function when the authorities (FAAN, NAMA and NCAA) approve irrespective of what anybody writes here. I don't know why you are angry as if my post is the reason why flights were not approved to operate from umueri on saturday. I repeat that allen onyema's airpeace has received its own share of owner management syndrome which is one of the reasons he was indicted by he US Department of Justice for paying for aircrafts from NGO accounts controlled by him. Airlines globally do not finance aircraft acquisitions that way. Again in 2020 the UK government also blocked his airline from carrying out a flight to london. They sold tickets without holding EASA TCO certificate to enable them operate into UK/european airspace. Again in same 2020 AIB probed them for overwriting the contents of the cockpit flight data recorder. Canada also blocked them for selling tickets to nigerians when they didnt have ATC from canada. I I can go on and on so i'm not surprised that his airline sold tickets to anambra for Saturday. |

I just finished watching the Anambra governorship debate and it was an eye opener. No doubt about Prof Soludo's enormous experience , his CV and and educational qualification. He stand out in these regards and clearly won the debate with the way he itemized his points and details. However , like I said here before I sense a level of arrogance from Soludo. He feels like he knows everything and everyone must how to his knees, which is a source of concern for me. Will he be able to listen to varied opinions and be humble enough to accept mistakes...I highly doubt this which might spell doom for him. Eze onye agwana m' bu nzuzu. Andy Ubah , as I have always known is an empty brain and has no business running for a governorship election: the man is dull , clueless , lacks confidence to articulate his plans....Andy Uba is nothing but an embarrassment and disgrace to Anambra and his Senatorial zone who let his represent them twice....am sorry but this will never happen in Idemmili and Anambra central. What a shameful display of mediocrity and Soludo was just mocking him. Finally , for me Val Ozigbo impressed me beyond my expectations. Val Ozigbo is calm , confident , classy and well informed. He might not have the qualifications of Soludo or experience but I feel Val would make a better leader than Soludo. Val seems to have a listening ears , humble and a decent temperament. He even pointed Soludo's obvious arrogance and people clapped. Ozigbo is my man but if Soludo wins I will support him, still. |

abnot:Stop spreading false information. Bayelsa Airport was done below standard, with just one runway, and a rework was carried out, same with Asaba Airport or Akanu Ibiam International Airport. So, do not bring Bayelsa Airport/Asaba Airport/Akanu Ibiam International Airport and Anambra Airport side by side. Why did you not mention Aminu Kano International Airport or Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport? Which are still in all round far below standard to be compared to Anambra International Airport. |
