The Christian population in both states are almost as much as everywhere else in the SW states. 50/50 at best or a swing towards any religion. I think you got it all wrong. The Berom are indigenous to the Jos Plateau and are mostly Christian. Remove the "Berom" from the Jos equation...then you would have had an even more messy situation long ago--since they have historically been staunch advocates for putting the interest of the Plateau natives first. They were one of the first initiators of the Middle Belt movement (along with the Tivs in Benue) even strongly advocating for a completely separate region (the Middle Belt region) before independence--which of course was sabotaged.

Lalong was erroneously elected as an overreaction to counter what was wrongfully seen as a Berom agenda" to dominate. However Lalong's village in Shendam is not affected by the kind of security challenges found in Jos--to which the Berom are most affected. Hence Lalong is as wishy-washy and woolly minded when it comes to the very core sensitive issues that affect the very nature, character and future security and prosperity of the State. I assume most of his earlier supporters now deeply regret this. Naturally, most Plateau natives see themselves in a Middle Belt reality that existed before the 1976 Murtala coup. Lalong does not have the guts to put words to action. The Berom and a few others have stood their ground in this ideological battle.

Okay I understand now...boss am a berom boy...born in Jos, grew up in Jos, had my primary and secondary school in Jos....now I have no village... Fulani killed and chased every of my tribe men, women and children..it's a sad reality...they see lalong as their own....infact he has been giving them juicy appointments in his administration...now they do things with so much impunity...!!

What nonsense are you saying? I am from Kogi state and my family has been living in Kwara and Kogi state for over 30 years. You either don't know about this places or you are intentionally mischievous.

The Wase issue occurred in Pre-colonial times but has lingered on and has definitely "hardened" the Langtang people around the area the more. In the case of an eventual Nigerian "debacle"--this is not exactly a "settled" issue.

I think there must have been this natural inclination to live in an almost "care-free" and relaxed atmosphere in Jos for long--but I really doubt this is really the case now. As a child in the 1980s, when I read about Maitatsine killings in the Newspaper, the whole news sounded so "strange" and so "faraway"...almost as if it is something that only occurred in a strange foreign land. But since the reality of the September 7 2001 rocked the state--I quite sense a more wary paranoia within the natives. Perhaps this was why it was one of the only states to have a State of Emergency declared on them during Objs tenure. Since then, there has been this underlying tension which has been far from the type of "relaxed" I knew when growing up. In the 80s, Jos must have been the only place in the world you will wake up at 2 am in the morning, take a long stroll in the middle of dead lonely street and "nothing" will happen to you. You cannot dare do that now!

My verdict: SCRAP ALL LOCAL GOVERNMENTS ALTOGETHER and revert back to the natural ethnic boundaries the way God in Heaven created them. Let each locality within a state define who and what they are. This is the only way to assert a true reflection of the local place in a state. Any ethnic group that wants to be lazy and rely on crude oil for survival....more power to them! As I said, a lot of nonsense is being carried out in the name of this doomed one Nigeria. The Federal Government's own glaring insecurities forces them to do a lot of ludicrous things all over the place!
