Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has given an update on the number of casualties and survivors of the recent collapsed building at Ikoyi.

On Saturday evening, Governor Sanwo-Olu giving an update on the Ikoyi building collapse said, the number of survivors is now 15; the dead 42. Up to 49 have been reported missing.

The rescue operation continues.

Yea, is a massive site. If you go to that site when the project commenced it is like a mini market. The pace of work was something else then, I believe the number of casualties were this less because this is the stage when skilled laborers are working.

Obviously people coming to check it out! The developer invited many people in the past too, so it’s no big deal and it was on a Monday, perhaps a meeting and they needed more workers to finish up fast.

I strongly believe over 100 people have lost their lives already
