We spend 1.2B in defence - this modern force of 25,000 - that is well paid, well trained, well equiped and very proffesional. We do not need 360,000 militia like Nigeria or a million militia like Ethiopia that is underpaid, under-trained, ill equiped, poorly motivated and indiscipline.

We spend 400M dollars in Intelligence force of about 1,000 officers. This is also arguably one of Africa best intelligence services - that doesnt get entangled in action but provide actionable intelligence for police.

We spend the remainder in police - including paramilitary police that can waste Nigeria and regional army. That about 1.5B dollars. This for police force about 50,000

Kenya police - paramilitary wing police wing - complete with armoured personnel carrier, some helicopters to deal with cattle rustlers and internal terror

We rarely ever deploy KDF on internal matters. KDF for most of time has been used to provide international peace and security - all over Africa, Asia and Europe.

In short our police force are enough to waste Nigeria or Uganda or Tanzania army.
