We have to assist our Eastern brethren in this endeavor I don't like the thought of anywhere in Africa being dominated by Eurasians. Many West African businesses/corporations are making large strives in the East but it's not enough to mitigate the Eurasian dominance.

A Unified(not literally one nation) independent, wealthy, and headstrong Africa is at the forefront of Nigeria's foriegn interests.

Yesterday I heard a VERRRRY INTERESTING story about this place. Firstly it'll be the FIRST true mall- the rest in Eastleigh are BASICALLY structures housing stalls. On 7 acres BBM will have the space to provide higher level goods and services like the ORIGINAL BBM Dubai.
The project was kicked off by Somalis incl Duale 3 yrs ago IIRC. Later Ruto shoehorned his way in and took it over! Late last year a crane collapsed and EVERYTHING stopped for 3 months.
Construction resumed til mid year when the Chinese contractors were ALL arrested. A month ago a horde of Turks in company of Mama Ngina visited the site. During their visit the whole road was closed off.
Rumour has it the Kenyattas being the last men standing in the convoluted ownership tussle have now somehow partnered with Turks.
Idk ANYTHING beyond that: shareholding, holding companies, fronts etc, etc. You can estimate the value if a quarter acre in the area is 2 mn $ and it stands on 7 ac.
Add the buildings value, plant, equipment and movables of tenants. I hear it's ALREADY overbooked! Imo, the 1st fam will regret antagonizing the original investors just as their son leaves office.
It will be an iconic biz structure in Eastleigh, yes. Also, Eastleigh is upgrading its market stalls and pedestrian lanes. It will take time but Eastleigh will be one of the biggest town around. The construction boom is also something not to be overlooked.

Yes Eastleigh can become commercial district competing with Nairobi's downtown - with few improvements - I think entire Ngara - Pangani-Eastleigh is going to transform into high rises and commerical district.

It's very unlikely it will become a business district - that seem restricted to old CBD, Upperhill, KIlimani and Westland.

But as commercial/residential hub - definitely.

Look at these rankings and where they placed Kenya. After talking about Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria and a few others they considered worthy, they now lumped the rest together, in such a passive way grin

Check all African rankings based on military strength, and you would never see Kenya in the first 10 while while Nigeria is always in first 3!

Even you yourself knows that Kenya is not in same league with Nigeria, military-wise but you have allowed emotions to becloud your sense of logic.
Rankings are usually provide a partial picture of the real situation. Eg. The US is number one with the best equipment and training but the could not win in Iraq and Afghanistan. The true strength of a military comes in what can't be ranked and that is training and military doctrine.
Kenya is ranked better than Tanzania in that ranking, but Tanzania's doctrine is acting as defensive force and train extensively in convectional and unconventional warfare, so if Tz was to fight Kenya (something that would not happen) their J-7 are better at dogfighting and have better range than the f-5 Kenya uses thus air superiority would go to Tanzania and what would follow most likely Tz would fight in a more guerilla style than convectional means. I don't know about Kenya's doctrine but what I'm trying to say is the effective of the military at executing their doctrine is more important than their budget and ranking.

Kenya, a country that still flys f-5 jets, that have been retired by other countries, have the guts to compare it military to Nigeria?
The audacity.
Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by Mkenya2019: 9:26am On Nov 13, 2021
Right tooling for the job. Why would you buy long range supersonic jets yet you're dealing with homegrown terror? Some of these fighter jets should be reserved for developed world. Poor African countries should invest in right tools - attack helicopters and such.

It's like Uganda spending US$740 million to buy Sukhoi Su-30 Flankers which they cannot even reliably maintain and which will probably see no action.

Kenya F-5 jets have never seen and will probably not see much action since 1970s. They are just for display during national celebration.

What see actions are much lighter weapons dealing with counter-insurgency inform of islamic terror and rebels.

Precisely. Kenya doctrine is not fight with Tanzania. We reserve GSU and APS for such a job. We might fight proxy wars in DRC Congo but I dont see a direct conflict happening. In fact we prefer to trade than fight you.Maybe we can fight Ugandans - because unlike TZ - they are normally led by crazy military heads - but obviously our biggest problem remain Somalia irredentism - and maybe in distant future Ethiopia or whatever will come out of Ethiopia - maybe Oromia or Ogaden will eventually become countries.

If you check all our military bases and barrack - none really is near Tanzania or even Uganda - all are pointed north towards Somalia and Ethiopia - because we are likely to fight with them.

This is what it says about Nigeria army

Nigeria is struggling with an ISIS-affiliated insurgency from Boko Haram (of “Bring Back Our Girls” fame). Despite Nigeria’s oil wealth , its military is ill-equipped to combat this Islamist uprising. One soldier described it to BBC as:

“Imagine me and you are fighting, we both have guns but while you are wearing a bullet proof vest, I’m carrying an umbrella.”
Soldiers in the country’s Northeastern Borno State are so underequipped, their armored vehicles don’t actually move. Some soldiers are known to flee with civilians as they tear off their uniforms.

Your well over a dacade outdated. Nigeria's mining and oil industries are largely completely or partially aboriginal Nigerian owned depending on the company. The more old school companies like Shell came on the scene dacades ago when Nigeria lacked the sufficient infastructure but now Nigerians own large shares holds of Local Shell operations as well as taken over a lot of the management.

Not to mention new completely indigenous oil & mining companies have made large strives into the scene as well. Over 90% of Dangote's management & work force is native Nigerian. You saw a few Eurasians and your inferiority complex kicked in triggering you to say some ignorant things based on what your use to back in Kenya. grin

I can't say the same for Kenya and by extension East Africa which is near completely dominated by non-indigenous companies.
