babamoha:Although 40 litres of fuel is big enough to take you that distance and back but considering the size of the pathfinder, your speed, driving pattern, fuel quality as imported into the country, road imperfections necessitating frequent braking and acceleration, traffic etc. should considerably impact your mpg. A scan will most likely help to pinpoint any irregularities along your fuel lines. Also, bad plugs and clogged airfilter can affect mpg. Most times when people complain about poor mpg in Nigeria, I feel they don't understand the factors that affect the numbers our counterparts in Europe, America and Asian countries get. They drive mostly on cruise control covering hundreds of miles without the need for the cars' brakes. Their roads are good with premium quality fuel to complement. When a manufacturer sets mpg at 22/30 and 25 combined, you can't achieve this in Nigeria even with Octane Boosters because of other factors. So @OP, scan your vehicle to identify any possible DTC and fix then compare mpg afterwards. |
