The Kano State Police Command has concluded its Quran recitation competition organized by its officers.

The Chief of the Takai Police Station, DPO Mahi Ahmad Ali, came first in the 60 week class, receiving a new refrigerator and other prizes.

The competition, which began on Wednesday, includes troops and fighters competing at the 60, 40, 5 and 2 levels.

Then there is ASP Salihu Ismail, who is a hero in the 40 Izu class.

Kano State Governor Aliyu Harazumi, who represented the Emir of Kano at the event, presented a special gift to Kano State Police Commissioner Samaila Dikko as it was under his leadership for the first time.

A useless and vision less country! Messing around with religion that will never help anybody...how many times have they organized a reasonable operational training that will enhance their job! Nigeria will never grow...never!

At first I thought it was hisbah that was organizing this event, only to discover that it is the Nigerian Police which is supposed to be a religiously neutral organisation.

In fact Section 10 of the Constitution explicitly stated:

The Government of the Federation or of a State shall not adopt any religion as State Religion.

If this is how dumb these people are, then I think it is only fair that Police commands in predominantly Christian states should also use tax payers money to organise Bible Quiz and Choir practice for various Christian denominations.
If the followers of darkness are too dim to understand the meaning of being in a secular state where religion and government should be separated, then everyone must be allowed to violate the Constitution as well.

Allow Sango, Ogun, Yemoja and Amadioha worshippers to also use public funds to organise traditional religious retreats for their followers.
